‘Nigerians should cultivate habit of writing wills’

‘Nigerians should cultivate habit of writing wills’

Director Business Development of ARM Pension, Mr. Abisola Onigbogi, has stressed the need for Nigerians to cultivate the habit of writing their wills.

Onigbogi, who gave the advice at a front desk customer forum organised by the company, said the development was necessary to avoid crises among the family after the contributor dies.

“If you die without a will your beneficiary will have a difficult time accessing the benefit, if there is no will in place we have little control and that is what we are passing across to our customers,” he stated.
The company’s director, Mrs. Kemi Oluwasina said pension desk officers’ customer forum is the best way to relate with customers.

She noted that the pension industry was highly regulated which was important to have the right information that would help contributors personally.

“This is as an industry where we have pension money growing daily, as at today we have over N5 trillion in the industry in assets belonging to over 6 million Nigerians, it is important to protect those assets because we don’t want to have worked all this years and the money in the case of demise goes to the hands of the wrong person,” Oluwasina said.

  1. Human nature is in essence greedy. Once we strive to make our own cheddah, Will or none cannot be at the forefront of one's mind.
