EFCC must probe disappearance of Jonathan’s 69 Prado SUVs —Ekujumi

President Goodluck Jonathan

A Nigerian rights activist and public affairs analyst, Nelson Ekujumi, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to immediately commence probe into the disappearance of over 69 brand new Toyota Prado SUVs allegedly given to the spokesman of a socio-cultural organisation by former President Goodluck Jonathan for support during the 2015 general elections.

Ekujumi said he suspected that the SUVs were sold, by the spokesman, to a car dealer in Victoria Island area of Lagos.

“One is hereby seeking the investigation of the anti-corruption agencies to unravel what happened to over 69 brand new Toyota Prado Jeeps allegedly given to a spokesperson of a socio-cultural group for distribution to a certain group of individuals for their support for the political ambition of the former President Goodluck Jonathan before the conduct of the 2015 general elections by the presidency,” Ekujumi said among several posts on his Facebook wall on Sunday.

“We suspect that the vehicles were diverted and sold to a car dealer in Victoria Island, Lagos State.”

He urged the EFCC to investigate the actual number of the brand new Prado jeeps that were given to “this socio-cultural organisation spokesperson” by the presidency prior to the 2015 general election.

He also asked the anti-graft agency to find out if the money for the purchase of the vehicles was appropriated for and where the money was sourced from if it was not appropriated for.

Among others, he asked the EFCC to:

•determine the persons behind this assault and abuse of public trust;

•how many of these brand new Prado jeeps were delivered to the beneficiaries by the socio-cultural organisation spokesperson as directed by the presidency;

•how many of these Prado jeeps were allegedly diverted to a car dealer’s showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Ekujumi said he was doing this because the role of the citizen in complementing government programmes is very critical to societal stability and peace.

“Hence, if we are to win this war against corruption, then all hands must be on deck.

“It is expected that the anti-corruption agencies will move fast to investigate this clear case of corruption in order to engender public confidence in winning the war against this social malaise.

“EFCC, over to you,” he said while commending President Buhari’s stand against corruption and the efforts of the various anti-graft bodies to win the battle in the country.

I didn’t collect money from Dasuki – Obanikoro’s son

I didn’t collect money from Dasuki – Obanikoro’s son

Gbolahan Obanikoro

Gbolahan Obanikoro, a son of a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, says he never received stolen funds as alleged by authorities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

He added that he built a house in the United Kingdom, the United States and Nigeria without receiving stolen funds.

According to sources at the EFCC, Gbolahan and his brother, Babajide, are currently under investigation because a company, Sylvan McNamara Limited, which they once headed, allegedly received N4.75bn from the Central Bank of Nigeria Imprest Account of the National Security Adviser under Sambo Dasuki between June 6, 2014 and December, 12, 2015.

However, Gbolahan said in an online interview with our correspondent that the allegations were false.

When asked to respond to a report by Sahara Reporters that he bought a house in 2014 as soon as the funds were transferred to Sylvan McNamara, Gbolahan said, “And this house, according to Sahara Reporters, also is a hideout. It’s just silly. I bought a house in the United Kingdom in 2008.

“I built my house in Nigeria in 2010 and I opted to buy a house in the United States in 2014 during which period my wife had our third child. My focus for almost a decade has always been on business and the private sector and not politics.

“I have been working hard and I have been fortunate to run a successful business. So it is definitely not out of place for me, and it is most certainly not a crime to buy a house. I’m truly grateful to Almighty Allah for all he has bestowed on me and my family.”

The businessman also denied being a director in the said company. He said he worked at the company but had resigned by the time the money was allegedly transferred to the company’s bank account.

Gbolahan said, “I am not and was never a director of this company and neither am I a signatory to its account or any other account related to the entity. My involvement with this company ended as far back as 2013 before all these things happened and before my father was even appointed as a minister.

“So, any dealings that transpired after that did not involve me. The bank is available to confirm who the signatories to the account are, and the Corporate Affairs Commission is also available to confirm who the directors of the company are. I am positive the authorities, if they are investigating this matter, will discover this.”

The former minister’s son said he and his family had become victims of a media witch-hunt being spearheaded by Sahara Reporters.

He said his father had taken the media company to court and Nigerians would soon know the truth.

Gbolahan, however, expressed support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade.

He said, “I have no problems with it at all. I believe it’s every Nigerian’s desire for corruption to be eradicated or at least significantly reduced. Steps have been taken in the past, steps will be taken now, and further steps will be taken even after President Buhari’s administration.”

For Men 3 black tie dress code mistakes to avoid

For Men 3 black tie dress code mistakes to avoid

Along with the award season comes the black tie dress code for both men and women. Men have a specific kind of look for such events and it is important to do it right.

Along with the award season comes the black tie dress code for both men and women. While women have it sorted out with the variety of gowns, men have a specific kind of look for such events and it is  important to do it right.

There are so many tips on what pieces to get for a black tie event and how to wear them appropriately such that you look irresistible. However, there aren’t enough tips on what to totally avoid in putting a black tie look together. Here are 3 tips on what to avoid in dressing for a black tie event:

Black tie not formal: No matter what you do, do not put on a regular suit and a tie to a black tie event. The black tie is one of the most specific dress codes in history. You either abide by it with a tuxedo and a bow tie or stay home. FYI, you could get your tux look from cheaper stores like H&M.

Not the patterned blazer: The idea of being sophisticated when it comes to menswear for black tie events is to be minimal and simple while looking classic, so to that effect, ditch the multi color patterned tuxedo blazer at home and settle for black or midnight blue.

Keep it simple: Every fashion conscious person will tell you there is great reward in paying attention to the little details and as much as I agree with that, I will implore you to not pay so much attention that you over embellish. Anymore than 3 accessories may be too much for a black tie look.

Watch out for these important steps and let us know how they work for you at your next black tie event.

$2.1b arms deals: FG beefs up security for probe panel chairman, others

$2.1b arms deals: FG beefs up security for probe panel chairman, others

•Israeli agent’s movement restricted
•Why serving military officers under
probe still retain command positions

The federal government is not taking chances in the probe of arms deals under the last administration.

It has consequently beefed up security around the probe panel chairman, AVM J.O.N. Ode(rtd) and others members of the committee.

Sources said last night that the action was to check the desperation of some suspects being investigated in the arms deals to infiltrate the panel.

Already, the movement of an Israeli agent described as central to the arms deals, has been restricted to the country pending the conclusion of the investigation.

His passport has been seized to stop him from sneaking out of the country.

Investigations suggested that some under probe had gone as far as employing subtle means to woo relations and friends of the panel chairman and members with a view to prevailing on the panelists to ‘tread softly.’

But the committee members have vowed to get to the roots of the scandals in the Armed Forces.

A highly-placed source said: “Some of these suspects were so desperate that they were ready to do anything to escape justice.

“You can imagine how daring they have become by offering $150,000 to an EFCC operative.

“The government has decided to build heavy security round the Chairman and members of the Special Investigative Committee and their families.”

Other members of the committee are R/Adm J.A. Aikhomu (rtd.); R/Adm E. Ogbor (rtd.); Brig Gen L. Adekagun (rtd.); Brig Gen M. Aminu-Kano (rtd.); Brig Gen N. Rimtip (rtd.); Cdre T.D. Ikoli ; Air Cdre U. Mohammed (rtd.); Air Cdre I. Shafi’i; Col A.A. Ariyibi; Gp Capt C.A. Oriaku (rtd.); Mr. Ibrahim Magu (EFCC) and Brig Gen Y.I. Shalangwa(Secretary).

Responding to a question, the source said: “The ongoing exercise comes with a lot of risks for the chairman and members of the committee.

“The probe of the procurements by the military is just about 50 per cent level and the panel has uncovered mind-boggling frauds.

“By the time the panel is fully done, Nigerians will appreciate the extent of the rot in the system.

“Yet, most of these suspects are really daring and too desperate in wielding influence.

“Phase II of the investigation borders on inflation, diversion, reduction and embezzlement of salaries and allowances of troops by senior officers. This committee is yet to get to this bend.”

Investigation also revealed that some of the serving military officers being probed are still retained in their command positions for strategic reasons.

Some of those affected are the most senior Air Force officer, AVM A. M. Mamu(the Chief of Administration); AVM O.T. Oguntoyinbo (former Director of Production, Defence Headquarters);  AVM R.A. Ojuawo (Air Officer Tactical Air Command, Makurdi;  AVM J.B. Adigun(former Chief of Accounts and Budgeting in NAF); and AVM JA Kayode-Beckley(Director, Armament Research in Air Force Research and Development Centre); AVM T Omenyi (MD, NAF Holdings)four top officers at the Defence Headquarters(DHQ), Air Cdre AO Ogunjobi; Air Cdre GMD Gwani; Air Cdre SO Makinde; Air Cdre AY Lassa and Col. N. Ashinze , who was the Special Military Assistant to the ex-National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.

A defence source said the military hierarchy left these officers in charge of their formations to “protect their right to fair hearing, their innocence until proven guilty and prevent them from leaving the country under any guise.

“They are no doubt distracted by the allegations against them but it is tactical to leave them in their positions until it is ripe to invite, arrest or detain them.

“As long as they remain in service, it will help the assignment of the Special Investigative Committee.

“We want them to be in the system and answer all the allegations against them. It is like putting them in a tight corner.”

As at press time, it was learnt that the movement of an Isareli agent, who facilitated some of the arms procured, has been restricted.

Another source close to the committee said: “The passport of the Israeli agent has been seized and had us virtually restricted to his residence pending the conclusion of the ongoing probed by the committee.”

Supreme Court judgement: Stop deceiving Nigerians Chris Uba tells brother

Supreme Court judgement: Stop deceiving Nigerians Chris Uba tells brother

The controversy generated by last Friday’s judgement of the Supreme Court recognizing the Ejike Oguebego faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in Anambra State and sacking Senators Andy Uba and Stella Oduah from the senate is taking a new dimension as Chris Uba has asked his brother and others to stop deceiving Nigerians and vacate their seats in the National Assembly honorably.

Chris Uba also declared himself as the Senator representing Anambra South in the Senate, pointing out that he will be leading other beneficiaries of the judgement to INEC on Monday to demand their certificate of return.

Uba who was the candidate of the PDP for the election was replaced by his elder brother following a decision by the Court of Appeal which set aside the decision of the lower court.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Chief Uba warned his brother, Senator Andy Uba, Ms. Stella Oduah and others to stop parading themselves as representatives of the people of Anambra state in the National Assembly.

He said that last Friday’s judgment by the Supreme Court which affirmed an earlier High Court verdict recognising the Oguebego executive as the state’s authentic leadership, advised the affected ‘former’ senators and House Representatives members to accept their fate and honourably step down.

He said he would be leading other members of the party who emerged as candidates under the Oguebego monitored primaries to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday to demand for their certificates of return.

Andy Uba and Oduah had faulted the assumptions that the Supreme Court judgment effectively removed them from office, arguing that they were not party in the suit which basically had to deal with issues of leadership crisis in Anambra PDP.

Chris, who described himself as “Senator representing Anambra South” said he was shocked that those who should be conversant with the laws of the land could be deceiving the public regarding their true status after the Supreme Court failed to recognise the dubious way through which they got to the Senate.

He said: “The time for substitution had passed and we were busy doing our campaigns when, one week to the election, the Andy Uba faction went to the Court of Appeal and set aside the judgement of the High Court.

“Based on that, they took the judgement to INEC and their names were used to substitute our own. We cried foul then, insisting we were not party to the suit but INEC insisted that our names were initially published based on an earlier court order and that we should go on appeal.

“We appealed to the Supreme Court and the verdict on Friday clearly vindicated our position as the Supreme Court set aside that judgement of the Court of Appeal, agreed with the judgement of the High Court and even granted all our five prayers.

“Now, they (Chris Uba and Oduah) went on air and issued press statements to deceive the public that the order from the Supreme Court did not affect them because they were not a party to the suit. The question is: when our names were removed by INEC and replaced with theirs, were we party to the suit?

“Now they are shouting and trying to misinterpret a clear judgment that has removed them and given us victory. They are just deceiving the public. We will demand for our certificates of return from INEC on Monday because the judgement is clear. We do not need to seek for any further clarifications.”

Uba said further: “When the whole exercise wanted to start, INEC wrote a letter to the PDP headquarters to avoid confusion, telling the PDP that the Ejike Oguebego exco was the one that it would recognise based on court order of a Federal High Court in Abuja.

“Unfortunately, the PDP ignored that letter and, instead, set up a two-man caretaker committee to come to Anambra State to conduct primaries. Of course, there was no room for that caretaker committee to operate in the state because the key to conducting the primaries is the 3-man delegates from the 326 wards in the state.

“It was obvious that without the state exco, the caretaker committee cannot be functional because the people who are supposed to organise the state congress were expected to liaise with the state chairman. From there, they would set up a committee to go to all the wards where the delegates would emerge from for electing candidates into the National and state assemblies.

“So when they set up this caretaker, the Ejike Oguebego exco went to court and got a judgement recognising it as the right exco therefore making null and void the caretaker committee.

“The judgment also instructed INEC and the PDP to conduct all the electioneering exercise under the Ejike Oguebego exco including all the candidates who were participating. So, we obeyed the court order and did our primaries as instructed. The exercise was duly monitored by INEC and all the relevant papers were signed.”

He said it would amount to injustice if the court had ruled in favour of the other group comprising Andy Uba, Stella Oduah and others who allegedly did not undergo any primaries nor visited Anambra.

“They just sat in their houses in Abuja. INEC and the PDP got copies of the results of our primaries and even sent our names to INEC and that was why the list containing our names was published as candidates before they went through the backdoor to remove it,” he stated.

Mystery as pastor drops dead, hours to ministering at burial service

Mystery as pastor drops dead, hours to ministering at burial service

Venerable Stephen Eseteru Ogue

The leadership of St. John’s Anglican Church, Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government  Area of Delta State was thrown into confusion when the church vicar, scheduled to lead a team of  ministers at a funeral service, suddenly died after he was rushed to hospital.

Venerable Stephen Eseteru Ogue, JP, 53, author of several Christian books, including ‘Escathology: The rapture of the Saints’, ‘Foundation for marital bliss’ and ‘The potential power of the Holy Spirit’, died at about 7.45 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015, two hours  before he was billed to officiate at a funeral service. Until his sudden death of cardiac arrest at Lily Hospital, Deco Road, Warri, the Anglican venerable, according to his first daughter, Oghenenyoreme Ogue, was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.

The hearse conveying the remains of the  woman whose burial the paster was supposed to preside at, mourners, including a large delegation of the church’s Women Guild as well as members of the Anglican Fasting and Prayer Society, had

gathered in front of the church building as early as 9.25 a.m. for the service billed for 10.00 a.m.

Unaware of the tragedy that had occurred, the mourners, who had been  warned the previous night against lateness to the funeral service, waited patiently for the officiating ministers to receive the body at the West Door (entrance of the church) in accordance with Anglican doctrine but no pastor was in sight. Meanwhile, other  members of the church and visitors kept  trooping into the church premises for the funeral service.

Worried by the development, members of the mourning family  began to  call the vicar’s phone line and a voice answering to urge them to be patient. The calls to Reverend Friday Erutere, billed to assist the venerable at the funeral service, were initially ignored until he answered  to similarly sue for patience, saying he was on his way to the church.

Erutere, who conducted the service of songs with Rev. Wisdom Eghagha, the previous night, had  warned against lateness, stressing that, in Anglican Church, such lapse  attracts a fine of N10,000.

After about 45 minutes delay, a Toyota car, said to be owned by the vicar/archdeacon, hurried into the church premises and made its way straight to the staff quarters ,to the  relief of those waiting  outside the church. Immediately, people  started regrouping around the hearse with the hope that the service would soon begin. But, the relief soon turned to despair when the regrouping band of mourners discovered that the occupants of the car were  only two female members of the family and the pastor’s  driver.

The waiting had just begun. In the anxiety, nobody observed that the car, which was later learnt to have taken the venerable out of the church premises that early morning, did not bring him back. The only occupants of the car at that moment besides the driver, were his wife, Felicia and his eldest daughter, Oghenenyoreme.

Eventually, 60 minutes after the scheduled time of service, Erutere, accompanied by two others, arrived at the West Door to officially receive the corpse and proceeded  with the funeral service.

Despite the commencement of proceedings, anxiety was still palpable as church members continued to ask after the whereabouts of the venerable, who had, on several occasions, enjoined members of the Women’s Guild to be punctual for that particular service and had promised to lead the church delegation to Okpara Inland for the interment. Nobody was providing answers to questions. Not even his assistant who, some observed later, appeared agitated and confused to the extent that, for the first time in a funeral service, there was no communion and there was no offertory. By far, the most worrisome was the  treatment accorded the National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, who took time off his church’s  three -day crusade at the Warri Township Stadium, as a mark of honour for the fallen mother.

As the mourners departed the church for Okpara Inland, venue of the interment, there was no word about the sudden death of the vicar of the Agbarho church where another Anglican canon, Rev. Benedict  Akpoguma, took over proceedings. Put simply, neither the mourners nor well wishers, who had travelled from long distances, including Mr. John Salubi of the NNPC, Dr. Francis Eghwubare of Delta State University, Mr. Joshua Onoronimighwu of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Victor Onogagamue of Delta State Sports Commission, Barrister Joseph Ogedegbe, and a  former NBA  Chairman of Ughelli Local Government,  were briefed on the reason for the funeral’s delay.

When our correspondent visited the home of the vicar, the wife [Felicia] was lying on the bed despondent with a few church members shielding her and making sure her health condition did not degenerate. Only the first daughter, Oghenenyoreme, could volunteer comments, although, she was unable to explain the mystery behind the death of her father,  as, according to her, they were trained to submit to the will of God in all circumstances.

However, the daughter said they had prayed together that morning in accordance with family tradition, without any visible signs of danger, and the ebullient father retired to the couch in the sitting room apparently to relax.

“After a while, I noticed that daddy was no longer breathing normally and I raised the alarm to draw my mum’s attention. She quickly called the driver and we carried him to the car and drove straight to the hospital in Warri. That is all I can tell you, because nobody told us anything about his state of health until the bishop came later that day to break the sad news to us,” she tearfully narrated.

APC condemns Mbaka’s transfer by Enugu Catholic Diocese

APC condemns Mbaka’s transfer by Enugu Catholic Diocese

The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Sunday, condemned the decision by the leadership of the Catholic Church, Enugu Parish to transfer the fire-brand cleric, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka from Christ the King Parish, Government Reserved Area, GRA, of the state to Our Lady Parish, Emene, a suburb of the state.

The fiery priest and Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry has presided over Christ the King Parish for 20 years but is expected to servd under another priest at the Emene Parish.

Spokesperson of the APC South-East Caucus, Osita Okechukwu, “It was wrong to punish the fearless priest for his prophecies which has proved to be from God.”

Okechukwu while expressing concern over Mbaka’s safety alleged that the transfer was influenced by outside forces, adding that worshippers may find it difficult to get to Emene for programmes of the Adoration Ministry.

He said, “Whereas we accept that the transfer of priests is a routine exercise of the great Catholic Church, However we do not wholly accept a situation where the church allows external forces to influence transfers as the Mbaka’s case suggests.

“Otherwise, future liberation clergy who speak truth to power will be hamstrung to the detriment of the society.

“Our major concern is the security implications and the fate of his flocks who are mostly the downtrodden who may find it difficult to go to Emene for salvation and healing.

“We frown at anything which will put Fr. Mbaka in harms way or deny his flocks healing.”

Okechukwu, while stating that the priest has been under attack from President Muhammadu Buhari’s opponent since he prophesied that the President will win the last election, noted that the party was in solidarity with the priest and condemn all attacks on him.

He alleged that the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo influenced Mbaka’s transfer to a new parish where he will serve under someone else.

Okechukwu said, “As a party, we have watched with concern and trepidation the criticism, attack, assault and unpleasant comments hurled at Fr. Mbaka since he providentially prophesied that President Buhari would win the 2015 elections.

“Even the Church did not spare him, he was called unprintable names, yet his prophecy came true. We are happy that Fr. Mbaka was vindicated.

“It must be pointed out that accusing fingers were pointed at the direction of some anti-Buhari elements like Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a group that didn’t want to hear the name of Buhari – even though Ohanaeze denied the allegation, doubt still persists.

“For we are still at a loss why a senior priest will be demoted to an assistant parish priest.

“We repeat that we are in solidarity with Fr. Mbaka and our major concern is the security of Fr. Mbaka and the suffering of his flocks, mostly the poor who need his healing powers.

“We had thought that His Lordship Bishop Calistus Onaga could have retained him at the Adoration Ground, as the Bishop Emeritus Gbuji did because of security of his life and easy access by his flocks,” he said.

Buhari Judiciary is my main headache when battling corruption

Buhari Judiciary is my main headache when battling corruption

President Buhari said it won't be wrong saying the judiciary system is his major headache when his administration’s ongoing anti-corruption fight is concerned.

President Muhammadu Buhari has referred to the Nigerian judicial system as the major sector that needs reform before his anti-corruption war can come through.
Speaking on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at a town hall meeting  with Nigerians in Addis Ababa, President Buhari said it won't be wrong saying the judiciary system is his major headache when his administration’s ongoing anti-corruption fight is concerned.

In his words, “On the fight against corruption vis-à-vis the judiciary, Nigerians will be right to say that is my main headache for now.
“If you reflect on what I went through for 12 years when I wanted to be the President, I attempted three times and on the fourth attempt through God and the use of technology, it was possible for Nigerians to elect an APC candidate as President.

“In my first attempt in 2003, I ended up at the Supreme Court and for 13 months I was in court. The second attempt in 2007, I was in court close to 20 months and in 2011, my third attempt, I was also in court for nine months.
“All these cases went up to the Supreme Court until the fourth time in 2015, when God agreed that I will be President of Nigeria.”

“We all assembled at the front office of Spotless Hotel, Ado Ekiti, owned by Fayose. Thereafter, the cash was taken to a Bureau De Change in Onitsha where it was converted to N4.7 billion”, Aluko added.

Chris Brown’s Baby Mama Nia Guzman, Claims The Singer Gave Their Kid Asthma With His Weed

Chris Brown’s Baby Mama Nia Guzman, Claims The Singer Gave Their Kid Asthma With His Weed

Nia Guzman is in a pissed off mood right now. Why? She claims Chris Brown has used his igbo (weed) to give their daughter asthma and its made the child sick. She also feels the singer is a bad influence on their daughter, Royalty.

According to Nia, 1-year-old Royalty has developed asthma, and she says it’s all because Chris has exposed her to an extreme amount of secondhand smoke. Brown is a weed and tobacco enthusiast. She further disclosed that whenever Royalty comes back from a visit with Chris she usually reeks of smoke.

It’s also learnt that Nia also claims in legal docs, that she’s worried Chris Brown is abusing drugs and has relapsed … especially with sizzurp. Nia Guzman now wants to restrict Chris’ visitation … asking the judge to force him to hire a full-time nanny or pull back on his right to be around the child.

And now the big one, Guzman wants more child support … she’s getting $2,500 a month but wants it upped to nearly $ 16k a month.

LOL! It’s all about the money!! Atleast thats what I feel personally, that is. Only a thief would demand such rise in child support. Don’t get me wrong ooh! No amount is too much to spend on your child/children ooh! What i’m just trying to say is only a thief, a liar and a lazy layabout would demand for such rise in child support and still want restrictions on the dad from seeing the child.

And erm.. I haven’t called names! Haha

PDP Mantu, Nnamani, Lamido, Shekarau reportedly move to form new party

PDP Mantu, Nnamani, Lamido, Shekarau reportedly move to form new party

It is speculated that the political party would see to the end of PDP and give the All Progressive Congress, APC, run for its money in the 2019 elections.

There are allegations that top members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have began moves to form a new political party following the internal crisis rocking the former ruling party.

According to a report by Daily Trust, the crisis in PDP may have assumed an irredeemable dimension, hence, the decision of some top leaders to meet and discuss possibility of forming a new political party.

The report further revealed the ex-governor of Kano State and former Education minister, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, ex-governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido and former Senate President, Ken Nnamani and ex-Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu, as the brainchild of the planned proposed political party.

It is believed that the political party would see to the end of PDP and give the All Progressive Congress, APC, run for its money in the 2019 elections.

When queried on the speculations, Mantu denied being part of any process aimed at forming a new political party.
In his words, “I have been attending series of meetings. I have been attending meetings both within the PDP and within the Save Democracy Group. As a member of the PDP constitutional review committee, I have been attending its meetings. I am also a member of a reconciliation committee of the PDP and a member of the northern leaders within the PDP. I’m a member of many groups and I am chairing many committees so I don’t know which one you are referring to really."

On the meeting he allegedly attended at Lamido's house, Mantu said, 'I know that there was a meeting in the office of the former Senate president Ken Nnamani. All these names you mentioned were members of that meeting. The objective of that meeting was to position the PDP in the right direction, look at what went wrong and how we are going to correct the mistake in order to reposition the party before the Nigerian people. That was the essence of that meeting. There were issues like things that needed to be done, including the election of a new chairman and that of the board of trustees so that we can do it in accordance with the provisions of our constitution. That was the meeting at Nnamani’s office.”

Others individuals that have been rumoured to be in line with the move to form the new party include ex-minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Muhammed, Ahmed Muhammed Gusau, Isa Yuguda, Donald Duke, Peter Odili, Dimeji Bankole, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, Senator Ibrahim Ida, Adamu Maina Waziri, Ibrahim Idris, Aminu Wali, Abba Dabo, John Odey, Austin Opara, Abiye Sekibo, Sergent Awuse, Wole Oke, Lasun Yusuf and Aniete Okon.

:Nigerian Queen Okwukwe Nwoko Ejected For Watching Pornographic Movie Inside Palace

Queen Okwukwe Nwoko,

Queen Okwukwe Nwoko, The Wife Of Obi Agbogidi Nwoko III, of Idumuje-Ugboko Kingdom Ejected For Watching Blue Film Inside Palace

This is not the best of times for Queen, Okwukwe Nwoko, who was allegedly ejected from the palace over allegation of infidelity.

Okwukwe got married to His Royal Majesty, Obi Agbogidi Nwoko III, of Idumuje-Ugboko Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State in 2010 as the fourth wife but ended up being the only wife to the 90-year-old monarch as two of the previous wives were divorced while the third died some years ago.

Trouble started three years ago for her when members of the royal family, allegedly championed by the Crown Prince, Nonso Nwoko accused Okwukwe of infidelity and consequently ejected her from the palace.

Members of the family contended that the monarch was not responsible for the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of a baby girl by Okwukwe, after the alleged act of infidelity. The girl is now three years old.

:Nigerian Queen Okwukwe Nwoko Ejected For Watching Pornographic Movie Inside Palace

Although efforts to contact Prince Nonso failed, a member of the royal family, Prince Obi Nwoko who spoke with Sunday Sun reporter said Okwukwe was “caught watching blue film” at the palace, adding that her mind was so corrupt and, therefore, not fit to be the wife of the king.

“She was sent out because of pregnancy from outside. We have evidence to show for it. Many issues were raised before she was sent out. She was proved to have committed the offence before we arrived at that decision. It was collectively agreed that she be sent out. It was not a one-man decision,” Prince Obi Nwoko said.

Prince Obi insisted that the last child of the king is an 11- year old girl, Celine, and not the child being paraded by the ejected queen, adding that the royal household rejected the idea of going for DNA test due to several unresolved issues.

But Okwukwe stoutly denied the allegations, and maintained that she was unjustly ejected from the palace to create room for the Crown Prince to succeed his father while he is still alive but in miserable condition due to lack of care.

Narrating her ordeal in the hands of her accusers, Okwukwe said that one morning when she drove into the palace grounds, she was told to leave the palace for good, adding that efforts to address perceived grievances were rebuffed.

Her words: “It was on October 1, 2012, when I was told to leave the palace. The boys said that Nonso Nwoko, first son of the Obi, the Crown Prince, said I should leave the palace. Prince Martins Nwoko, brother of the Obi, all joined hands to force me out. They sent two boys to drive away me from the palace. They threw away my property. When my family members went to the palace, they drove them all away. They said they didn’t want to see any of us in the palace.

“I was in the fifth month of pregnancy then, and ever since, I have not seen my husband and he has not seen me. Even when I delivered, I sent a message to the Obi that I had delivered, but one of his brothers said the Obi and I do not have any connection. They called the baby a bastard and stressed that they don’t want a bastard in the palace. They said they do not want any woman to be close to the Obi. Now the Obi is suffering, and there is nobody to help him, no wife. After that the boys seized my car, went to the market square, carried everything from my store and padlocked the store.

“Later, the second daughter of the Obi, Uzor, said they don’t want any woman near the palace again, that their father has been ruling for a long time and that anybody trying to send me back to the palace would fail.

“They blocked the joint account I was using with my husband. All the places we used to collect money, they blocked everywhere, giving me no access to any money again. They said nobody would help me. My father is late, and so there is nobody who can help me to fight the battle.

“My husband is now suffering. Any man that comes to me, they would warn the man, saying why are you going near Obi’s wife? But they are not maintaining me as Obi’s wife. They seized my car, my land and everything that is due to me in the palace,” she alleged.

According to her, when she offered to have the child undergo DNA test to ascertain the paternity of the baby or she be allowed to take the traditional oath to prove her innocence, her accusers refused and insisted on the ejection based on the allegation of infidelity.

She appealed to the Obi-in-Council, opinion leaders and concerned stakeholders to intervene.

“I want to go back to the palace and take care of my husband. The law is that as soon as you are married to the Obi legally, you cannot marry another person,” Okwukwe said. A community source said that the relationship between the embattled queen and the monarch was cordial before the recent development.

The source said: “She is a victim of other people’s manipulation. They conspired against her because of her influence in the community. She has been organizing women in the area. And so, people seeking power do not like her. Their foothold was that when she was pregnant, His Royal Majesty was too old to impregnate her and as such they concluded that she got pregnant outside the palace.”

According to the source, the Obi was not allowed to even address the matter, alleging that those around him were shielding him from other members of the community while he was silently suffering in the hands of his family members.

Niger Delta Militants Seize Oil Ship, Kidnap Crew Member, Give Buhari 31 Days To Release Kanu

Niger Delta Militants Seize Oil Ship, Kidnap Crew Member, Give Buhari 31 Days To Release Kanu

“We Will Blow Up The Oil Ship & The Crew Members If Nnamdi Kanu Isn’t Freed In 31 Days” – Militants Threatens FG

A group of Niger Delta militants in support of the agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has claimed responsibility for the hijack of a ship on Friday along the Bakassi Pennisula Nigeria coastal line.

The group, which recently gave the Federal Government a 31-day ultimatum to release Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader and Director of Radio Biafra, said the concerned Niger Delta agitators were abreast with the incarceration of Kanu.

Spokesperson of the group, who gave his name as General Ben, threatened that they would blow up the vessel with the expatriates onboard, if the government continues to dilly-dally over Kanu’s release.

Speaking in Port Harcourt yesterday, the group’s spokesperson declared that they would not wait till the end of the ultimatum, before showing their seriousness.

Ben stated: “We cannot wait till the end of the 31 days to tell the Federal Government that we are serious. The vessel and the crew are under custody.

And any noise, any delay from government, we will blow up everything. We will blow the vessel and everybody in the vessel will go down. “We are not interested in the country that owns the vessel. What we know is that the vessel was coming to Nigeria to lift oil. We are not interested;; once it is blown up, let the country and Nigeria resolve the matter.

“We are in touch with everything happening around the IPOB leader.

Now, court has denied him bail, saying because of his dual citizenship, he might jump bail. We also heard that the judge said he would rather give the matter an accelerated hearing.

This is provocative;; hence we did not waste time to go into action. We are in support of the Biafra struggle.

We will not retreat or surrender. “The federal government might have taken our ultimatum as an empty threat. But, we will surprise them,” he stated.

Also, the group reacted to the Supreme Court verdict, which upheld the appeal filed by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, saying that it saved the state from bloodshed.

Ben said the state would have been overwhelmed by crisis, warning any government against sabotaging the IPOB agitation of the consequences.

I’m going to suffer –Fr Mbaka

I’m going to suffer –Fr Mbaka

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka,

Fiery priest moves from duplex to one room apartment
■ Parishioners weep

TEARS flowed uncontrollably from parishioners and members of the Adoration Ministry as fiery Enugu Catholic priest and director of the ministry, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, yesterday bowed out of Christ the King Parish, GRA, Enugu, which he presided over as parish priest for 20 years.

The entire Enugu capital city also stood still as over 30 lorries accompanied by thousands of his adoration faithful escorted him in a motorcade to his new parish, Our Lady Parish, Emene, a suburb of the capital city.

Mbaka’s transfer became a topical issue as a section of the society saw it as a punitive measure for his recent prophecies especially that of December 31st 2014, when he predicted that former President Goodluck Jonathan would be defeated in the 2015 elections. This has however been dismissed by the church who explained that the transfer is a routine exercise done every six years by the bishop.

But Mbaka’s transfer as a parish priest to a resident priest, where he will serve under another priest, has raised eyebrows eliciting further comments from close observers.

Mbaka himself while handing over formally to his successor yesterday told those around that he was going to suffer, moving from a duplex to a room in his new parish but asked them not to worry that God has bigger plans for him.

Hear him: “I know we are going to suffer; between now and few months to come, I am going to suffer; I am going to suffer because I have no place to lay my head; I am  going to suffer because I have no place to keep the Ministry’s assets; I know I am going to suffer; fortunategoing to suffer because I have no ly it’s going to happen in the month of Lent; so I am going to use my exit here to observe the Lent.

But Jesus said it to His apostles in John 16:20, ‘You will be sorrowful and the world will be rejoicing but very soon I will turn your sorrows to joy.’ So I am waiting for that moment because for now I know we are going to suffer. The Adoration Ministry is passing through suffering right now; even though I have accepted it as the will of God; it is the will of God through suffering; it is a mega suffering.
But however, the grace of God will carry us all; even though some of you may pray that God should remove this thorn from us, the scripture says ‘His grace is sufficient for us; for its even in your weakness that the power of God is demonstrated.

So we are moving but don’t forget the scriptures, ‘my brothers they make me keeper of vineyards, my own vineyard I keepeth not. All these while we have been keeping vineyards, building for Christ The King Parish…Bishop Gbuji asked them, how much …but because I don’t want to disclose my charity, they can’t keep that account.

How many trailer loads of cement came here? All the monies I made from my cassette and other private crusades all of them were used to build this church. We cannot quantify it but let God be glorified.”

“It is the will of God; and when the will of God either permissive or however, happens, nobody should question it. All you have today is Amen; so to the will of God Fr. Mbaka has said Amen.”

Mbaka said he welcomed the decision of the church leadership with absolute acceptance and obedience, stating that nobody should see him as a recalcitrant priest. He assured that the parish would not collapse due to his exit, and urged the members to treat his successor, Rev. Fr. Theodore Ozoamalu, well, and to assist him in any way he needs help and not allow him to cry.

His words: “Don’t starve him; don’t allow him to suffer; in my own time I didn’t need your help because God blessed me in my own unique way and I am happy. God will keep the parish because we have fought the good fight; I am not regretting anything and the highest gift God has given here is his Holy Spirit who assisted me up till now.”

Kidnappers of Isoko monarch demand N50m

Kidnappers of Isoko monarch demand N50m

Kidnappers of the traditional ruler of Olomoro Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM, Josiah Agbaza I have commenced negotiations with the king’s subjects, demanding a ransom of N50 million, Sunday Sun learnt yesterday.

The royal father was abducted in the early hours of Friday by gunmen who whisked him away to an unknown destination from where they were said to be making contacts with the distraught subjects on the payment of the said ransom.

A community source told Sunday Sun: “The kidnappers have opened their lines and they have been talking with some major stakeholders in the community and making demand for the sum of N50 million for the king to be freed.”

But Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Celestina Kalu advised the family not to rush to pay ransom, assuring that security operatives have been deplored to comb the area and free

the monarch, unhurt.

Kalu urged members of the community to remain calm and go about their legal activities as security agencies were on top of the situation.

It would be recalled that about three months ago, kidnappers abandoned their victim, Dr. Idodo Umeh at Olomoro when the police in collaboration with local vigilante chased the hoodlums and almost

caught them.

Meanwhile, the abduction of Agbaza brings to two the number of traditional rulers that have been kidnapped within the last three weeks in the state.

On January 5, the Obi of Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Akaeze Edward Ofolue III was  idnapped by suspected herdsmen, and his decomposing corpse was discovered after 19 days of the bizarre abduction. Obi Ofolue’s kidnap and subsequent brutal murder was still raising dust among stakeholders in the oil-rich state when another set of hoodlums struck in Isoko, taking the traditional ruler of Olomoro hostage in the process.

The Delta State Traditional Rulers’ Council had in the wake of the murder of Obi Ofolue, expressed fears about the security of monarchs in the state, calling on the state government to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous act.

Rising from a meeting in Asaba, the state capital, the royal fathers in a three-point communique signed by acting chairman, Obi Emmanuel Efeizomor of Owa Kingdom urged the government to put necessary machinery in motion to guarantee the security of traditional rulers.

According to the communique, the royal fathers described as unacceptable a situation where criminal elements were constantly terrorizing monarchs and the entire citizenry.

They also appealed to their subjects at home and in the Diaspora to collaborate with government in terms of providing adequate security for traditional institutions.

PDP crisis: Gulak threatens governors, NEC with contempt charges

PDP crisis: Gulak threatens governors, NEC with contempt charges

Ahmed Gulak

As Adamawa PDP nominates Juta to replace Secondus

THE bid by Ahmed Gulak, erstwhile Presidential Adviser on Political Matters to former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan to assume the office of national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) has suffered a setback in his home state of Adamawa, Sunday Sun can authoritatively reveal.

In a move to solve the leadership crisis facing the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) stakeholders of the party in Adamawa State have finally settled for Ambassador Wilberforce Juta as a replacement for the erstwhile national chairman of the party, Adamu Muazu. Juta, former governor of the defunct Gongola State is a member of the party Board of Trustees.

Sunday Sun checks revealed that the party chieftain from Adamawa in the North-east zone had been nominated for the office by the Adamawa State chapter of the party. Further checks revealed that the nomination has been sent to the leadership of the party in the North-east zone.

The nomination would be presented to the PDP National Executive Committee, (NEC) for ratification.

The party national caucus, Board of Trustees and NEC have separately fixed their meetings for this week to resolve the party leadership crisis.

A communiqué issued by the Adamawa State chapter of the party and signed by its chairman, Chief Joel Madaki, “resolved to support the candidature of Ambassador Wilberforce B. Juta, a former governor of the defunct Gongola State, one of the founding fathers of the PDP, a member of G-34, first National Vice Chairman (North East) of the party and currently a member of its Board of Trustee for the post of the National Chairman of PDP.”

The communique further read in part: “That, it is our conviction therefore, that Amb. Juta can well deliver in this onerous assignment.

“That, the party ( PDP) is calling on all other interested members to patriotically lay down their personal ambition for the heightened interests of the party in Adamawa State.

“That, the State Working Committee of the PDP in Adamawa State commends the efforts of those who stood up to be counted in this noble goal of salvaging the party and taken after wide and extensive consultations is in the best interest of our great party and Adamawa State.

“That, we believe this decision taken after a wide and extensive consultations, is in the best interest of our great party and Adamawa State.”

Three chieftains of the party had last week proclaimed themselves as chairman of the party.

Gulak had last Wednesday stormed the party’s national secretariat to assume position as the national chairman of the party.

Addressing newsmen, Gulak had claimed that a declaratory judgment delivered by Justice Hussein Buba of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on December 15, 2015 asking the acting national chairman, Uche Secondus to vacate his office within 14 days equally pronounced himself (Gulak) as the new chairman of the party.

His action had since been countered by the PDP Governors Forum which last Wednesday night in an emergency meeting condemned Gulak’s action. Addressing newsmen, Ondo State governor and chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Dr Segun Mimmiko said the forum had directed the acting national chairman of the party, Uche Secondus to step down from the office and revert to his earlier position as deputy national chairman.

The forum further directed the national secretary of the main opposition party, Professor Wale Oladipo to assume the office of chairman in acting capacity, pending the meetings of the party statutory organs fixed for this week.

But the governors pronouncement asking Professor Oladipo to assume position as chairman was last week dismissed as a misnomer by the party national working committee which insisted that Secondus remained the acting national chairman of the main opposition party, pending the outcome of the meeting of statutory organs of the party fixed for next week.

At a media briefing yesterday in Abuja, spokesperson of the Ahmed Gulak faction of the party, Bernard Mikko rejected the nomination of Ambassador Juta by the Adamawa State chapter of the party. He further warned the leadership of the party in the North-east against the adoption of Ambassador Juta.

Mikko claimed that the zone had since lost the mandate to produce a replacement for Uche Secondus having failed to act within the 14 days windows provided by the judgment of Justice Buba asking Secondus to vacate the office.

Mikko said: “The party was given 14 days to bring another person and it failed to do that. So, the window to do that has elapsed. Anything they do now will be challenged.

“Why did they have to wait for Gulak to activate the process? “This is where they are at fault. Why did the governors of Taraba and Gombe not call a meeting of the North-east and nominate a candidate? They had seven months after the resignation of Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu to do this but they refused.

“The North-east shouldn’t think the entire party will be subjected to their whims and caprices.”

Gulak further warned the party national working committee and governors against the national caucus and National Executive Committee meetings as he claimed that “ any meeting of caucus or NEC without Ahmed Gulak presiding won’t be acceptable and will have no effect in law.

“We shall initiate contempt charges against them. We had notified INEC of the judgment of Justice Buba.”

Spokesperson of the Gulak group also dismissed the allegation that they were being used by the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress to cause division within the main opposition party.

“All we are trying to do is to bring sanity to the PDP, majority of the party stakeholders don’t want them in office again.”

Bimbo Akintola: I Will Rather Than Single Than To Enter Marriage Bondage

Popular actress and show host, Bimbo Akintola, is unapologetically single. She had said in many interviews that she’d rather die single than screw self into a bondage in the name of marriage.

Now in her 40s, the lady of charm and brains said she had no relationship the last time she granted an interview to Daily Sun, but shortly after, another interview revealed that the effervescent actor insists she doesn’t need marriage to be happy.

The only known and celebrated romance she had was with Dede Mabiaku with whom she was a friend for two years before the dalliance culminated into dating. The 43-year-old dated Dede for years, but after a while, the duo reviewed the relationship and felt they were going to be better off as friends. So, they called it quits and from that point on remained friends.

Bimbo Akintola certainly needs a ‘kind’ of man she’s yet to find and she’d rather remain single than compromise her belief about marriage. More so that her parents have been married for over 50 years.
