50-yr-old gay escapes lynching in Umuahia

A man identified only as Onyeogbi escaped lynching by a mob last Wednesday after he was caught red having canal knowledge of an under-aged boy through the anus in a shop at the railway quarters in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

An eyewitness said the suspect, believed to be over 50 years, had been in the habit of moving around the area with boys.

It was gathered that a strange noise coming out of his shop attracted residents, who at about 8am, forced his shop open, where they met him forcing his manhood into one of the boys anus.

It was also learnt that while he was having sex with one of the boys, the other three were also naked, waiting for their turn.

The situation enraged the residents of the area, making them to parade the suspects round the area naked, while giving the man the beating of his life. It took the intervention of a police patrol team to rescue the man.

The suspects, however, refused to disclose their names, towns and reasons for engaging in sodomy.

A resident of the Railways quarters, who gave his name only Chidi, told Southern City News that the suspect lived a strange life and always brought in young boys from unknown places and usually spent the nights with them.

He added that some residents of the quarters had reported the man’s activities to a nearby police station in the past, but according to him, he was released after none of his relatives came to take him on bail.

He said, “We suspect that the boys abused by the gay may have been fetched from Isi-gate market where the suspect allegedly goes at night to pick homeless male-children.

“We believe that the man may also have people he is working for because we learnt that he pays the boys N5,000 after using them. We also gathered that he promised to introduce some of them to other gay men in town.

“To prove that he is not alone, the last time he was caught in the same act, some youths in the quarters locked the shop and asked him to leave the area. But to our dismay, he came back with an injunction from a lawyer, stating that nobody had the right to forcefully eject him from the quarters.”

It was learnt that the gay and the kids were later whisked away by the police to save them from the angry crowd which threatened to burn the man alive with used tyres.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ogbonaya Nta, confirmed the incident.

He added that the police patrol team stopped the mob from taking laws into their hands and reported the matter to the Central Police Station, Umuahia.

Cop killers, 20 others nabbed with stolen items

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has apprehended six suspected killers of a police corporal who dispossessed him of his two phones and other valuables. He was allegedly killed by a member of the gang identified as Saliu Saka.

Other members of the gang include Ismaila Abdulwaheed, 28; Kayode Olusegun, 21; Sunday Odo, 21; John Paul, 17; and Ifeanyi Peter, 19.

The deceased was said to have on December 29, 2016 boarded a vehicle operated by the gang, who attacked and murdered.

Parading the suspects and 20 others on Thursday in Abuja, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Mustafa, listed items recovered from the gang to include one blue Volkswagen Golf car with FCT registration number KWL 421 TC, a Nokia handset belonging to the killed policeman and three knives.

The CP said, “The syndicate which operated in an unpainted taxi is responsible for the gruesome murder of a police corporal who was robbed of his two phones, GOTV, cash and other valuables before he was stabbed severely on the chest by a member of the gang identified as Saliu Saka.

“The dagger used in stabbing the deceased police officer has been recovered; all six suspects arrested have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court on conclusion of investigation.”

Mustafa said the gang operated from Berger Roundabout to Airport Road or Area 1 to Gwagwalada in search of passengers to rob.

“The syndicate took advantage of the evening rush hours, when people are rushing to get to their homes, to lure their unsuspecting victims. They operated mostly at nights with sharp knives, and sometimes toy guns,” he added.

The police boss said his command also recovered vehicles, firearms, motorcycles, handsets, television sets, locally-made pistols, knives, among other things from 20 other suspects paraded.

FRSC begins speed limiter enforcement today

FRSC begins speed limiter enforcement today

The Federal Road Safety Corps says it will commence full enforcement of installation of speed limiting device in commercial vehicles nationwide on February 1 (today).

This is coming a few months after what it called ‘advisory enforcement’ without apprehending motorists.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

The Head, Media Relations and Strategy, FRSC, Bisi Kazeem, told newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday that sector and field commands of the agency had been fully mobilised for the exercise.

He said the army, police, civil defence and other security agencies were on standby to provide security support for the enforcement.

Kazeem  also stated that mobile courts had been set up nationwide for the purpose, adding that defaulters could pay up to N3,000 as penalty.

He said, “In readiness for the full enforcement tomorrow (Wednesday), the field commands have been fully mobilised nationwide. To facilitate enforcement, a portal for Speed Limiting Device was created and is operational and a short code to confirm the installation of the SLD is active.

“A standard operating procedure has been dispatched with a directive that copies of the standard operating procedure be shared to security agencies within the commands’ areas of jurisdiction.

“A template for daily report has also been designed and forwarded to commands, while booking sheets with ‘Failure to Install Speed Limiting Device’ have been distributed to field commands.”

For effectiveness, Kazeem added that sector commanders had been instructed to carry out joint patrols with unit commands throughout the month of February.

According to him, commands are expected to hold mobile court sittings from the outset, and where mobile courts are likely to slow down the enforcement, they can proceed without them.

“We have created a situation room to monitor and collate reports on a daily basis and trial runs for the clampdown. Sector commands are fully prepared and have made arrangements for security backups and joint patrols with the police, civil defence, army and other security agencies,’’ he said.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

Kazeem also  said the high involvement of commercial vehicles in road crashes across the country informed the need to begin the enforcement with them, adding that there was no going back on the policy.

After its initial opposition to the device, the House of Representatives in May last year later endorsed it as part of measures to curb road crashes.

A report of the House Committee on Committee on Federal Road Safety Commission indicated that the FRSC acted within the powers conferred on it by the FRSC Act, 2007, to“implement strategies to safeguard lives and property of road users.”

Justice Ademola denied me bail for not paying N25m bribe – Witness

Justice Ademola denied me bail for not paying N25m bribe – Witness

A prosecution witness, Dr. Sani Teidi, testifying on Tuesday in the ongoing trial of a serving judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, and two others, before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Abuja, accused the judge of demanding N25m bribe from him while standing trial before him (the judge) between 2013 and 2014.

Teidi, a former Director, Pension Accounts Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, who was testifying as the sixth prosecution witness, said he was made to remain on prison remand for one year and two months because of his refusal to meet the judge’s alleged demand for bribe.

But under cross-examination, the defence team confronted the witness with documents, including a report by the National Judicial Council exonerating, Justice Ademola, a serving judge of the Federal High Court, of the  bribery allegation and other acts of misconducts.

Teidi, who was in the witness box for over seven hours taking turns to respond to questions from the prosecuting lawyers, said that although his wife wrote the petition which informed the report issued by the NJC, he was not aware of the document  until about two weeks ago when it was shown to him by the prosecuting counsel.

The Federal Government is prosecuting Justice Ademola, his wife, Olabowale; and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Joe Agi, on charges bordering mainly on giving and receiving of gratification and alleged illegal possession of firearms found with the judge.

In one of the 16 counts preferred against the three defendants, Justice Ademola was specifically accused of attempting to receive N25m as gratification from Teidi, who was then standing trial before the judge on charges bordering on diversion of N4.6bn  pension funds.

Led in evidence by the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Segun Jegede, the 57-year-old witness, now the Director, Finance and Account in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, said Justice Ademola refused to sign his release warrant despite meeting the bail conditions.

AU stops Ministers from representing Presidents, addressing summit

AU stops minister from representing president, addressing summit

The Chairperson of the African Union, President Alfa Conde of Guinea says minister will no longer be allowed to address the Assembly of Heads of States and Governments as from next AU Summit.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

Conde, who stated this while addressing the 28th AU Summit on Tuesday in Addis Ababa, said the measure was part of the recommendations made in 2016 at AU summit in Kigali,

He said that a committee headed by President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, was set up by AU to reform the Summit and how its meeting would be conducted.

“If you call it Assembly of Heads of State, it should remain so, there is no need for minister to take the floor, minister should be at the level of their executive meeting and should be limited to that,” he said.

He alleged that most of the presidents do not spend time at the meeting, adding that after opening ceremony, some of them take their leave.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

Conde, who also frowned at attitude of not being punctual by the leaders, which called “African time,’’ said it was high time such attitude was checked.

According to him, when they go for such meeting outside Africa the leaders always keep to time but it is only in Africa they come to meeting at will and late.

The AU Chairperson, who said the measure would take effect from July, said that was one of the steps to implement the reform on how the business of the Summit should be conducted.

Dede Mabiaku abandons interview after Femi Adesina asks him to shut up

Veteran entertainer Dede Mabiaku on Monday stormed out an interview on Lagos Talks FM 93.1 after the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina, told him to ‘shut up’ during an argument.

A video of the incident, which has now gone viral, shows Adesina asking Nigerians to be patient and allow Buhari to carry out his mandate.

When the presenter sought the views of Mabiaku, who had argued that Nigerians had not seen the change they voted for, the entertainer stressed that his views were unimportant since Adesina had asked him to shut up.

“Why do you want to hear me when he (Adesina) had the audacity to tell me to shut up?” he asked.

After insisting that Adesina had no right to use such language just because he works for the government, the annoyed artiste walked out of the studio with the spokesman to the President laughing.

Prof. Akindele Adetoye has apologised to 2Baba, for describing the megastar as “illiterate”. The backlash that greeted the professor’s comment was unprecedented.

In his apology, Akintoye had written, “Good day brethren, I put up an update yesterday that incurred the wrath of some of my friends and the population at large for what some considered its harshness to another member of the Nigerian community.

“In hindsight, I believe I was indeed harsh. I believe I am wrong to have come at him in the manner in which I did. He’s in love with our nation like I am and like the rest of us.

“It was in finding a lasting remedy to our national malaise that I believe my passion took the best of me, and it was in that regard that I erred.

“I apologize for that and I apologize to those whom my update affected in any manner. I was wrong and I am sorry.

“Thank you and God bless you all.”

Atiku, Daura forced Obasanjo in 2013 - Oba of Lagos opens can of worms

Atiku, Daura forced Obasanjo in 2013 - Oba of Lagos opens can of worms

- Atiku Abubakar has replied to Oba Akiolu's accusation that he forced him out of the police

- The Oba of Lagos had said the former vice president was among those who advised Obasanjo

- Atiku said he holds the Oba of Lagos in the highest esteem and he is totally innocent

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos earlier suggested Atiku Abubakar was behind his forced exit from the Nigeria Police Force.

While speaking at the Administration of Justice Summit organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice on Monday, January 30, Mr Akiolu alleged that Abubakar played a prominent role in convincing Olusegun Obasanjo, to retire him from service.

He said: “I remember that I was a victim of that circumstance; then Abubakar Atiku, Daura, and others advised ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo that if he wants to win Lagos in 2003 presidential election, I must be removed. It was written on paper.

“And in fairness to Obasanjo, he argued that he knew nothing about it. And he had to send for the Inspector General because the then Chief of Staff challenged the plan to retire me. So for someone to sit at the Police Service Commission and determine who retires from the police is unfair. This is not how to run a very efficient police force.”

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

However, in a statement issued by his media office on Tuesday, January 31, the former vice president denied the allegation. Below is the full statement:

"Former Vice President and chieftain of All Progressives Congress, Atiku Abubakar debunks the accusations by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, that he and others were responsible for his retirement from the police force in 2002.

"Reacting to the Oba's allegations published in a section of the media, the former Vice President says in a statement by his media office in Abuja on Tuesday, 31 January that at no time did he suggest nor propose the removal of Akiolu from the police force.

"The statement explains that Atiku never supervised the Nigeria Police or the Police Service Commission, and therefore, couldn't have been part of any alleged plot to force the Oba out of public service for committing no offence.

"The former Vice President also explains that he had no power over the Police Force or the Police Service Commission to remove anybody for whatever reason from office without committing any offence.

"Atiku Abubakar emphasises that he was not familiar with Oba Akiolu as at the time the monarch was removed from the Police Force.

"The Turakin Adamawa affirms that he holds the Oba of Lagos in the highest esteem, but he is totally innocent of the allegations the monarch made against at him."

‘Those wishing Buhari dead should confront God’

‘Those wishing Buhari dead should confront God’

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has asked those who are behind the rumoured death of President Muhammadu Buhari to go and confront God who made it possible for him to become the President.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

Ortom said this when he paid a solidarity visit to the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday night.

He said he decided to visit and show solidarity to Osinbajo and wish Buhari who is on vacation good health and safe return home.

He prayed that God would help the present administration, which he said came on board at a time that Nigeria is in recession occasioned by bad leadership by past administration.

The governor said, “Those that are wishing Mr. President dead should go and confront God who brought Mr. President to be President of Nigeria.

“It was not his making. When that time came, God made it possible, just like some of us.

“It was God that made it possible for us to be here and nobody can remove us until the time that God’s programme for Nigeria is completed and God decides what to do next.”

While urging all Nigerians to be law-abiding, Ortom said when leaders champion the course of disobeying the laws of the land, there would be anarchy.

“Nigeria is the only country we have. Definitely, we don’t want to be like Syria and other countries that have gotten themselves entangled in various calamities,” he said.

“I want to implore those who are bestowed with leadership, especially those who have taken oath of office, to obey the laws of the land, to protect the laws of the land and to live by the oath of office they have taken instead of playing politics of the extreme and causing things that can bring major disaster to our country.”

Nollywood actress, Jewel, alleges brutality by soldier

Nollywood actress, Jewel, alleges brutality by soldier

Nollywood actress and movie producer, Jewel Infinity, has decried her alleged assault by someone who she described as a soldier.

Writing from her hospital bed as posted on her Facebook wall, Jewel said the event happened earlier today (Tuesday) at about 11.50am.

She had boarded a Sienna mini van from Port Harcourt to Onitsha.

“As we approached the first checkpoint immediately after the airport, soldiers manning a checkpoint ordered the car to pull aside, which the driver complied with.

“One of them with the name tag Sulaiman Olamilekan accused me of gossiping about him, whereas I was only having a friendly debate with a lady seated beside me.

“The soldier ordered me to alight and kneel down to apologise to him. But I refused, explaining that I had done anything that warranted an apology.

To my dismay, this soldier looked around and found a huge stick, and started hitting me all over with it.

He shoved me out of the vehicle and when the stick became damaged, he went in search of another but came back with a big rod. “Immediately I saw him coming with that one, everyone was scared and could not help me, while his colleagues were busy stopping vehicles.

“Seeing that my life was at stake, I ran out of the vehicle and attempted to run to the other lane where their superior officers were sitting.

However, on a second thought, I sensed he might throw the big rod at me, so I stood still, thinking he wouldn’t dare use it on me, considering the sheer dangerous of the weapon, as well as how much brutality he had inflicted me already. But I was mistaken!

“Before I knew what was happening, he had started hitting my two legs with it! I was helpless, as other passengers were too scared to intervene.

“Eventually, the other soldiers urged him to stop, but they did not castigate him for the unprovoked assault!

“They went ahead to seize my phone and prevented me from taking any picture. They then damaged my phone.

“When I refused to proceed with the journey, they forcefully stopped me from going back to Port Harcourt, and compelled the driver to continue the journey to Onitsha, forcing me to go with the vehicle.

“I did as instructed, but I disembarked as a safe distance and boarded another vehicle heading back to Port Harcourt.

“When I narrated my story to the bewildered passengers in the new vehicle, the driver confirmed that Sulaiman Olamilekan is a ruthless soldier, saying he had also had an encounter like that with him before.

“As soon as we arrived Port Harcourt, I went straight to the Army Barracks to file a report about him, narrating my ordeal to them.

“The officers were astonished and pleaded that I shouldn’t take the case any further. They promised to remand him in the barracks for one month, saying that he joined them in 2015.

“I was taken to the clinic for treatment, after which they summoned Sulaiman Olamilekan. He was shocked that the case had gotten here already.

“He confessed that I didn’t do anything to have warranted his cruel action, but that he was in a very bad mood. He proceeded to plead for compassion.
“He later got my phone number from the clinic and called me on WhatsApp, asking for forgiveness. I was able to trace his authentic identity through True Caller.

“Right now, I am seriously ill and running temperature. The doctor said the temperature was due to the high fever occasioned by the trauma I suffered because of the assault.

“I urge the appropriate authorities to mete out the appropriate punishment for this murderous man in uniform.”

Gay, bisexual men to start giving blood in Switzerland

Gay, bisexual men to start giving blood in Switzerland

Switzerland on Tuesday said it would lift its 40-year ban on gay and bisexual men giving blood but will still prohibit donations from those who have had sex in the last year.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

In shifting to a 12-month abstinence requirement for donors, Swiss guidelines fell in line with other European countries like Britain and France, which implemented bans following the discovery of HIV in the early 1980s.

The policy change was approved by the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products (Swissmedic), a federal regulator, following an appeal from Swiss Transfusion SRC, a division of the Red Cross responsible for blood products.

Switzerland’s 1977 ban on blood donations from men who have sex with men (MSM) preceded the discovery of HIV.

It was triggered by fears of other pathogens within the gay and bisexual male population, although concern over HIV’s spread helped sustain the policy.

In a statement, Swissmedic noted that MSM in Switzerland are still disproportionately at risk of contracting HIV, accounting for roughly half of all new cases in the country.

But the guidelines “will not lead to an increased risk for recipients of blood transfusions”, the regulator said, adding that testing improvements have made it dramatically easier to detect infections.

Enforcing the one-year deferral relies entirely on prospective donors being honest about their recent sexual activity, and Swissmedic urged people to answer “truthfully” on the mandatory pre-donation questionnaire.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

For Swiss Transfusion chief Rudolf Schwabe, Tuesday’s policy shift marked “a first change to discriminatory regulation” even if the new rules are “far from perfect.”

He echoed calls from elsewhere in Europe for blood donation guidelines to be completely detached from sexual orientation and focused strictly on discouraging donors who engage in high risk behaviour, whether they are gay or straight.

Swissmedic said the new rules will come into effect on July 1.

Oba of Lagos blasts Atiku, Lawal Daura for plotting his removal from Nigeria Police in 2002

Oba Rilwan Akiolu

Oba Akiolu accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Director-General of Department of State Services (DSS), Mr Lawal Daura of plotting his removal along with other people he did not name.

According to the monarch, it was possible for them to convince former President Olusegun Obasanjo to summarily retire him from the Nigeria Police because the Police Service Commission (PSC) “is a toothless bull-dog.”

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

The monarch made this revelation during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Victoria Island Lagos, recently, Thisday reports.

He described his retirement from the force as conspiracy by chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to win the 2003 elections in Lagos.

He also lamented the state of the Nigeria Police, which he said, was crippled by the previous military regimes, especially from 1984 to 1999 and outright neglect by the successive administrations.

His words: “Then Atiku, Daura and others sat down and advised President Obasanjo that if he wanted to win Lagos in 2003, I should be removed. It was written on paper.”

The monarch therefore, defended the former president, whom he said, argued that he “did not know anything about it. He had to send for the Inspector-General of Police (IG) because the then Chief of Staff challenged the plan to retire me.

“For someone to sit at the PSC and determine who retires from the police is unfair. This is not how to run a very efficient and effective police force,” Akiolu lamented.

Oba Akiolu also accused the military of killing the efficiency and performance of the Nigeria Police.

Meanwhile, Oba Akiolu has advised Nigerians to persevere despite the current economic hardship in the nation.

Tension rocks Southeast, as governors face-off: Ikpeazu lashes out at Rochas

Tension rocks Southeast, as governors face-off: Ikpeazu lashes out at Rochas

Igbos at War: Governor Ikpeazu deals Rochas big blow

The move to unite the Southeast of Nigeria under one party, has taken a down turn, as Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has lashed out at Governor Rochas Okorocha.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

- Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state, has lashed out at Governor Rochas Okorocha

- The Abia state governor has rejected Okorocha's hand of brotherhood, as the Imo state governor urges Southeastern governors to join APC

- Okezie says Abia is a PDP state, even as Okorocha agrees his call was ill-timed

Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state, has reiterated that he remains a loyal and committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He spoke in response to claim by Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, that three Sout-East Governors are preparing to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Okorocha made the comment at a meeting of all APC leaders in the zone, held at the Imo International Convention Centre (IICC) on Saturday.

But Ikpeazu, through his Chief Press Secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos, urged his loyalists, associates, Abians and all Nigerians to disregard the rumor that he was planning to defect to APC.

“Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is not currently in the mood for party politics,” the CPS said in a statement made available to Daily Post Monday night.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

“He is in the good governance mood with focus on delivering massive dividends of democracy to Abia electorate that voted massively for him in 2015 to become the 4th democratically elected governor of God’s Own State of Abia, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“Abia is a PDP state and Governor Ikpeazu is not just a card-carrying member of the PDP in Abia, he is the leader of the party in the state and one of the current pillars of the party in Nigeria today. He is comfortable in PDP”.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has back-pedalled on his declaration that his other South East Governors were on the verge of defecting to joining him in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors, including Dave Umahi of Ebony State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia as well as Willie Obiano had denied Okorocha’s claims.

Reacting to the governors’ denial while speaking with State House correspondents after a meeting with Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, in his office, Okorocha said he may have spoken too early because the governors were not yet ready to defect.

“I don’t think it is true, but if it is true, it is probably because it is not time. It could be because I spoke when they were not yet ready,” Okorocha said.

On his leadership quality which Obiano had questioned, he said, “It is not about Rochas Okorocha, I am a governor.”

On the call that Ndigbo should produce the President in 2019, he reiterated that the South East should aspire to the Presidency after the Muhammadu Buhari’s era.

According to him, “What I do know is that Ndiigbo should talk about Presidency after President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I think we should support this government. President Muhammadu Buhari has a tenure to work for, four years or eight years according to the zoning arrangement and everybody should follow the zoning although I am not an advocate of zoning.”

He said “the APC as a party is strong in the South East. We are trying to rebuild the party and redefine leadership so there will be no confusion."

Ramsey Noauh: I Love My Wife’s Natural Beauty, She Doesn’t Wear Loud Makeup & Long Weaves

Ramsey Noauh: I Love My Wife’s Natural Beauty, She Doesn’t Wear Loud Makeup & Long Weaves

Ramsey Nouah with wife & Children

Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah recently agreed to an interview with Premium Times .

In this tell-it-all interview conducted at Eko Club in Surulere Lagos, the 46-year-old actor talked  at length about his marriage and his beautiful wife, Emelia Phillips Nouah.

See excerpts:

Aside from acting what have you been up to lately?

I have been spending time with my family. Whenever the need arises, I get involved in humanitarian and charitable activities. It has been more about film, family and giving back to the society.

Ramsey, your marriage appears to have stood the test of time. You have been married for 15 years now. Some of your colleagues have been unlucky in this regard.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

Contrary to a widely held notion, the success of a marriage largely rests on the woman. But these days, a lot of marriages are based on equality. A woman wants to get 50 per cent of whatever she is giving into the marriage back from the man.

This has led to the breakdown of many marriages. From time our mothers used to be the women that held their marriages. They were in charge of the home. Our mothers took charge of everything but today women don’t want that kind of responsibility. Hence, it is affecting marriages.

So, your wife has fared well in this regard?

My wife belongs to the category of “our mothers”. She believes in sustaining our marriage and holding it strong.
So whenever I am asked how we have been able to keep it together, I tell them my wife is the woman who has actually held our home.

Do you also accord her rightful place in the home?

She doesn’t have a place because she owns the home. It’s her call however (way) she wants things done. She is the driver of the family and her decision is final. That is why I say she is not an ordinary woman. She is a triple woman.

Is she comfortable with your romantic and kissing scenes?

When some people ask me “how does your wife cope when she sees you kissing other women in the movie?” and I tell them that my wife is special. She is not an ordinary woman. She understands things in a way many other women don’t. That is why I say, an actor or actress, has to find that special person. It is not love that will bond you. Forget love, love dies. What sustains the marriage is companionship.

If you cannot find companionship in your partner from the beginning, then you do not have a partner. Don’t lust after a woman because of her beauty and don’t lust after a guy because he is handsome. You must lust after the companionship that bonds you together.

It should be like “for some reasons you cannot do without her; for some reasons there is something about her that brings you home”. It may be her sense of humour; or the way she keeps the home. Same thing applies for the ladies; there must be something about him that you cannot do without. If this quality is not there, then you don’t have a companion.

So, you guys have had it smooth sailing in your marriage all the while?

Don’t get me wrong, don’t think that do have our moments of disagreement. But it depends on the way we handle it. Women cannot stand the heat in the kitchen anymore and they just want to run. That is why marriages are crumbling. A lot people don’t want to work hard anymore, because marriage is hard work. So when you talk about marriages crashing, it’s not my call. The only problem that I have is to make sure I provide food for the family.

Any counsel for your colleagues who have been unlucky with love and marriage?

Nobody gives advice when it comes to matters of the heart. People say they are going for counseling and all but at the end, it is what is in their heart is still what they want to do. Because those things in your heart are laced with emotions and emotions are very hard to tackle. When you have emotion that is full of jealousy, hate or anger, it is hard to break it until you exercise it.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

That is why when your dad screams ‘do not follow that boy’ the teenager does not listen until she has satisfied what her heart desires from the boy. Most times, you learn by experience. Companionship is not easy. When everybody is running into marriages as if marriage wants to go out of fashion, take your time and be ready for it. Be ready to accept someone with his flaws. My wife has her problems and I also have mine. A lot of it actually and I know. You must be able to accommodate the other person.

Divorce is on the rise. Why do you think this is so?

When a woman believes she earns more than the man, the man should start doing the work of a woman like sweeping, changing diapers. There is no sense in that. A woman’s place should not change and the same applies to the man. I am not expecting a woman to overwork herself with house chores. I help and support my wife when there is no help in the house. I sweep when I have the time.

In what ways do you also help out in the home?

I cooked two days before having this interview. I am a great cook. No woman can do shakara for me oo. I made my stew and rice with smoked chicken. I grew up with my mum and with her, you must know how to sweep and do many other chores.

Are you romantic?

Don’t judge me by my movie roles. I don’t think I am romantic. My wife does not think I am that romantic either.

Many people wonder why you do not step out with your wife on the red carpet?

My wife and I have an understanding. And this is one of the reasons our marriage is still standing strong. We avoid the public eye because the public has a way of messing up relationships. Sometimes, my wife goes ahead of me into the event, so we don’t do red carpet. It is the same people that harass you for not taking your wife to red carpet event that will sit back and point fingers at how you both look.

Some say you don’t take your wife to red carpet event because she is not beautiful?

Ramsey Noauh: I Love My Wife’s Natural Beauty, She Doesn’t Wear Loud Makeup & Long Weaves

Ramsey Nouah wife natural beauty Emelia phillips Nouah
That is what they think. My wife is very cute. May be because my wife is not loud or flashy when it comes to make-up or wearing long weaves. She is very natural and she knows that I love her natural looks.

An unnamed Saudi Arabia prince hit the headlines across the world yesterday following an ostentatious act that has shocked people.

The super rich man from the royal family in Saudi Arabia expending whooping sums of money in buying air-flight tickets for 80 hawks. The birds were well attended to by the flight attendants according to reports.

Reddit user, Lensoo shared the above photo a friend of his took on the plane that shows the 'royal hawks enjoying the luxury of flying in positions occupied originally by human beings.

One commenter on that thread on Reddit explained the odd sight: "For those wondering, this is probably one of the gulf states royal families going hunting," they said. "Stuff like this is common to a lesser degree in the Gulf on regular flights. If you fly Etihad or Emirates or Qatar enough you will eventually see someone flying in first class with a falcon sitting next to them."

In the United Arab Emirates, hawks could have their own passports. There are also laws against discrimination towards falcons. "So if a falconer comes into Starbucks and requests a chair for his falcon," that commenter explained, "you have to give it to him and let the falcon sit there in the store."

How Prisons Officials Stripped Me N*ked and Chained Me - Okah Opens on Maltreatment

Charles Okah

The man who is alleged to have been behind the horrific Independence Day twin bombings has opened up on his maltreatment by prison officials.

For More:Visit Us at Uju Ayalogu's Blog

Charles Okah, the detained alleged mastermind of the 2010 Independence Day twin bombings, yesterday told a Federal High Court in Abuja, how officials at Kuje Prisons stripped him n*ked, handcuffed and chained him on January 23, 2017.

According to Sun News, the man spoke through his counsel, Mr Samuel Zibiri (SAN), who condemned the incident.

“I received a message that, on January 23, Okah was stripped n*ked, cuffed and chained by officials of the prison for exposing information to a radio station,” Zibiri said.

In response to the incident, Justice Gabriel Kolawole stated that no authority in Nigeria has the power to inflict corporal punishment on anyone in its custody.

Describing the action as an infraction of Okah’s right, Justice Kolawole said: “if I get such a report a second time, I will not take it lightly.”

However, a senior prison official in court, Mr Sanda Nanka, said he was not aware of it, when confronted by the judge.

Nanka said he was in charge of only matters of inmates which had to do with the court.

When the prosecuting counsel, Mr Alex Iziyon (SAN) told the court that several conversations and emails were intercepted emanating from the defendant on telephone, the judge wondered how the defendant got hold of a telephone in prison.

Kolawole said if the defendant had access to a telephone in prison, the only explanation would be that prison officials were colluding with inmates to give them access to phones.

Earlier, Mr Humphrey Ohikhuare, a staff of the Department of State Security (DSS) and the prosecution’s 17th witness, disowned part of his witness statement on oath.

In a paragraph of the statement he  had deposed to before the court, Ohikhuare said Okah sent a consignment from Lagos to Abuja.

But, while being cross-examined by Zibiri, Ohikuare said that the statement was not correct.

An attempt by Iziyon to re-examine the witness to clear what he termed an ambiguity was rejected by the judge.

Justice Kolawole said the witness could not be allowed to use an oral statement to counter a statement he deposed to on oath.

The matter was adjourned to January 31 for the prosecution to call its last witness.
