Junaid: South-west enjoying Buhari… he has not built a single road in the north

Junaid Mohammed, a second republic lawmaker, says while President Muhammdau Buhari is busy developing the south-western part of the country, he has not built a single road in the north.

According to Vanguard, Mohammed said this while giving an assessment of the current administration.

Mohammed challenged Buhari to mention one road project he had completed in the north since he assumed power two years ago.

He compared Buhari to former President Goodluck Jonathan who allegedly abandoned the south-south region during his five years in office.

“Today, it is the south-west that is enjoying the Buhari administration in terms of key appointments and development projects like roads,” he reportedly said.

“He has short-changed the north. He has not done even a single road so far in the north.

“Buhari’s idea of project implementation is skewed in favour of the south-west.

“This is the same thing that Jonathan did for other parts of the country excluding the south-south where he comes from.”

However, he gave Buhari high ratings in the fight against insurgency and the war against corruption but said the president failed woefully in shoring up the economy.

He also said the ill health of the president had limited his performance.

Mohammed also commented about the crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and expressed reservations over the celebration of May 29 as democracy day

“Nigeria needs a strong leader who practises what he says. Buhari is generally sick and this limitation has really hindered his performance,” he said.

“He has disconnected from his party leadership, the APC, and he has problems with the legislature and the judiciary.

“We really have no basis to celebrate May 29 since it was set up by the military.

“We have acted and behaved more as despotic nation and have not met the basic tenets of democracy and for me, there is nothing to celebrate.
