As controversies continue over attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen across the country, the Nigerian presidency has revealed that Muhammadu Buhari’s predecessor, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, is the life patron of the Miyetti Allah.
The revelation was made by Lauretta Onochie, one of the spokespersons of President Buhari, who also released a certificate as confirmation.

In a tweet, she said: “True, Miyetti Allah denied crimes, but Lo and behold who is its real Life Patron? It's Reno Omokri's erstwhile boss, Goodluck Jonathan. So should we now say Jonathan was behind the incessant and condemnable attacks which predated President Muhammadu Buhari's administration?”
We earlier reported how Paul Unongo, the chairman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), recently accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of being a major sponsor and most influential member of the Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association of Nigeria, which is known as the highest body of Fulani herdsmen in the country.
The report said Paul called on Atiku Abubakar, a prince of the Tiv Court, to caution the herdsmen, who are responsible for the murder of countless number of people in the country.

We also reported how Garus Gololo, a leader of Miyetti Allah cattle breeders in Benue state, said the attack on some communities in the state, which led to the killings of innocent Nigerians, was in retaliation for alleged stealing of their cows.
Gololo told BBC News Pidgin that trouble started when some people attacked Fulani herdsmen who were relocating with their cows from Benue state.
He said as they were relocating over 1000 of their cows were stolen at Nengere.
