Silverbird Group Chairman, Ben Murray-Bruce has said he did not steal Nigeria’s money to set up the company.
Murray-Bruce, who currently represents the Bayelsa East constituency at the Senate, revealed to newsmen that the company started with a loan he received from his father in 1980.
“I founded Silverbird in 1980 with a N20k loan from my father and on November 21st, we will be celebrating 35 years. Thank you Nigeria!” he said.
“Silverbird is evidence you don’t need to steal to make it in Nigeria.
“If anyone has evidence, ‘not insinuation’, that I stole from Nigeria to establish Silverbird, please publish it,” the Chairman said.
