The organisation said on Wednesday, January 31 in Abuja that the initiative would also generate N1.2 trillion annual revenue and also create estimated 322,000 direct new jobs for Nigerians across the country, Daily Trust reports

We gathered that the director, press and public affairs of GOPRI, Dr Emeka Ugwanyi, said in a statement that the colony was the best option in addressing the never-ending herdsmen and farmers crises in the country.

Ugwuanyi also urged states and people opposing the initiative to rescind their decisions and have a second look at the proposed policy in the interest of the country and the citizenry.

He added: “Cattle colony is the best option for Nigeria now because it's going to house several ranches with all the basic amenities in one place. It will control the arbitrary spread of ranches, thus making it easier for good policing.

"The policy will further create about 322,000 direct new jobs across the country and it's estimated to generate over N1.2 trillion as annual revenue for Nigeria."

This was revealed by Doctor Olukayode Oyedele who is the special assistant to the minister of agriculture, Audu Ogbeh. Although, the names of the states were yet to be revealed.
