A former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of running a “fascist” government following an alleged raid of a guest house owned by the Deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu.
We had earlier reported that officials of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) stormed the Abuja official guest house of the Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.
Ekweremadu, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, said his guest house was raided on Friday morning, May 26, by police officers, an allegation the police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, denied.

According to Moshood, the police have “absolutely nothing” to do with the raid, Premium Times reports.
But in a swift response, Fani-Kayode said the development marked the latest in a relentless persecution of opposition figures and other citizens by the Buhari administration.
This comes even as he urged Nigerians to rise up and demand a stop to on-going attacks against democracy and the Constitution by Buhari.
Fani-Kayode posted a statement on his Facebook page.
The raid on Ekweremadu's guest house comes days after the deputy Senate president cried out that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) is after him.
Ike Ekweremadu raised an alarm that the EFCC has perfected plans to invade his country home in Enugu.
