Hadi Sirika, minister of state for aviation, says the Nnamdi Azikwe airport will be closed for 30 minutes on Thursday afternoon.
The minister, who disclosed this on Twitter, said it is to allow officials resolve a situation.
According to the minister, a private jet operated by Nest Oil skidded off the runway while landing and lost its landing gear in an attempt to return to the runway.
This means that all flights would not be able to operate within this period.
