President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed the outcome of his security meeting with service chiefs saying intelligence-gathering and sharing must now be taken more seriously.

We had reported that the president met with the security chiefs behind closed doors on Monday, February 12 and the president has urged for more action in handling the insecurity problem of insecurity.

In a series of tweets, President Buhari said those arrested for illegally possessing arms will be face justice.

He also urged judicial officers to make sure justice is served.

He said: "One of the resolutions from our Security Meeting today is that all our law enforcement agencies must take intelligence-gathering and sharing much more seriously. The Police and DSS especially have been charged to step up their efforts and capacity in this regard.

Our law enforcement agencies must at all times stay ahead of bandits and criminals, wherever they are across the country, by efficiently gathering, sharing and acting on credible Intelligence. I am assuring that we will give them all the support needed to succeed.

Let me also assure that all persons arrested so far, including those arrested for illegally possessing arms, will be duly prosecuted. I urge judicial officers to be alive to responsibilities in this regard, to enable the speedy dispensation of justice.

Meanwhile, Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, said it is wrong to classify Fulani herders as killer herdsmen.

According to him, linking a particular tribe to a crime is wrong and a form of bigotry. He said herdsmen who killed should be labeled as criminals and not linked to the Fulani tribe.

Okorocha made this statement while receiving the national leaders of the Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim led by its Supreme Head, the Prelate His Eminence Solomon Alao, at the Government House Owerri at the weekend.
