According to the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State disclosed this during the National Security Summit organized by the Senate in Abuja.
The endorsement by the governors follows a similar position expressed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo last week at the same Summit.
Speaking on behalf of other governors across the country, Governor Yari explained that the creation of state police would help Nigeria overcome the security challenges currently bedeviling Nigerians in various parts of the country.
