Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ben Ayade
Exchange abusive text messages
There are indications that a serious quarrel has broken out between the Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ben Ayade, and the chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in the state, Mr. Goddie Akpama, over the 260-kilometre super highway project from Calabar to Katsina-Ala initiated by the governor.
The face–off assumed a different dimension as Ayade and Akpama engaged in exchange of abusive text messages against each other as they tried to hold firm to their grounds.
From indication, the text messages which have gone viral were exchanged between Ayade and the IPAC chairman between Sunday night and the early hours of Monday.
The exchange was triggered by the IPAC chairman who complained about the state of internal roads in the state and charged the governor not to concentrate on the construction of the super highway alone, but to also attend to internal roads that were fast crumbling.
