Terror attacks are imminent in Nigeria’s southwest, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has warned.
Vanguard reports that the Ogun state police command on Thursday, November 12, 2015, paraded four members of a bank robbery syndicate with explosive devices which they planned to use for an operation in Ijebu-Ode area of the state.

NOA has therefore advised schools, churches and mosques, among other usually crowded places, to put measures in place to prevent any possible attacks.
The director of the NOA, Dayo Famosaya, who issued a statement in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, said they had to raise the alarm for the people to be security conscious and watch out for strangers in their neighbourhood.
The statement titled ‘Public information on security consciousness and awareness’ also shed light on their fears that the terrorists may have infiltrated the south-western part of the country.
“They have threatened to deploy cluster bombs in the zone. These cluster bombs are usually housed in discarded metallic materials such as cans of beverages and soft drinks.
“The bombs may be concealed in bags and for it to have more grievous effect, they have planned to deploy these bombs in crowded places such as schools, markets, stadia, churches and mosques,” the statement read.
The public has also been warned to watch out for people wearing flowing apparel, as it was the type of clothes they wear to hide their weapons.
Consequently, leaders of religious institutions, public and private schools in Ekiti state, have confirmed receipt of the NOA letter and have begun to put measures in place to foil any possible attack.
Only yesterday, the wife of a Boko Haram leader was reportedly arrested by the Nigerian troops and she has been helping them with vital information as regards how to capture more of the insurgents.
