THE acting Assistant Comptroller General, ACG, of Customs, Zone ‘A’ of the Nigeria Customs Service, Charles Edike has said the service is making effort to arrest the fleeing members of the syndicate that tried exporting 576 kilogram of drugs to South Africa.
Speaking after concluding on the ground assessment of the seizure made by officers of the Apapa Area command of the service, the acting ACG said there were loose ends that would lead to the arrest of other members of the group.
The drug made up of 266kg of methamphetamine and 310kgs of ephedrine valued at N4.6 billion were hidden inside noodles, cereals and palm oil
Though one Tochukwu Ubah had been arrested in connection to the planned exportation of the drug to Durban South Africa, the customs boss said there were enough information to get the remaining members of the syndicate.
