The Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase has threatened to deal decisively with anyone that violated the electoral laws during the forthcoming Kogi State governorship election.
He stated that he would not spare political thugs, including security personnel that engaged in any act that could compromise the integrity of the election on Saturday and the Bayelsa State governorship poll holding on December 5,2015.
Arase who held a meeting with the Squadron Commanders, Mobile Police Force, at the Force headquarters on Monday in Abuja, admonished the officers and men of the force to situate their operations within professional ethics.
He said, “We are at the threshold of another election in Kogi and Bayelsa States scheduled to hold on November 21 and December 5,2015 respectively; our resolve and competence will once again be tested in this onerous assignment, we cannot afford to fail.
“As we drive the process, however, let me warn that any person that attempts to test the will of the Force by engaging in any act that negates the electoral law or engages in any crime with intent to detail or compromise the integrity of the exercise will be isolated and firmly death with
