Claiming that the Federal Government’s attempts to revoke his bill were in “bad taste” former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki, filed a Preliminary Objection at the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday.

Claiming that the Federal Government’s attempts to revoke his bill were in “bad taste” former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki, filed a Preliminary Objection at the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday.

In September the Federal High Court granted the former NSA bail based on medical necessity. Mr. Dasuki denounced the attempt by the Federal Government to revoke his bail as a direct violation of his rights as an ordinary Nigerian citizen.

The Prosecution Counsel, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Oladipo Okpeseyitan, noted that he was pursuing two applications against the defendant.   The first being the effort to revoke Mr. Dasuki’s bail, and the second an attempt to stop the release of the former NSA’s passport.

In light of Mr. Dasuki’s filing of a Preliminary Objection, Mr. Okpeseyitan requested that he be provided time to review the objection.

The trial judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, then adjourned the hearing of Mr. Dasuki’s Preliminary Objection to January 20th, 2016.

It will be recalled that SaharaReporters previously reported that Mr. Dasuki was transferred to the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
