A FITNESS instructor was jailed for five years today for giving HIV to two young women he had sex with.
Simon James, 46, of Bristol, denied recklessly passing on the deadly virus but was found guilty by a jury following a trial lasting five days.
James got the killer bug in 1995 but infected the two women over a six year period from 2008 onwards.
He first lied to them saying he did not have the disease before telling themm his medication made it impossible to pass it on.
Cops today revealed he refused to disclose details of former girlfriends and they fear there could be more victims out there who are unaware they have the disease.
Recorder Michael Parroy, QC, said: "With what I see as your perfectly deliberate selfishness you have blighted the lives of these two young women.
"You told the court during the course of your evidence that you found wearing condoms uncomfortable and that you were allergic to them and so on.
"You wanted to go on having sex with them. You wanted to go on, for your own reasons, having unprotected sex with them, and the result for both of them has been quite disastrous.
"This was not merely a mere intermittent brief episode in either case. You were well aware of what you were doing and went ahead and did it for your own personal satisfaction.
"What you did Mr James was quite dreadful and the consequences will be lived by others, not you."
He added: "In my view this was a perfectly deliberate and continuous course of conduct which you pursued.
"You went straight from one victim to the next almost without a break."
