NAPTIP: Poverty, Greed, Peer Pressure, Others Responsible for Human Trafficking

National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has listed Poverty, greed, peer pressure, adult male conspiracy, among other factors that are responsible for the high spate of global human trafficking.

To curb the menace, the agency canvassed robust relationship between it and the media in information dissemination.

This observation was a fall out of the 2-day training workshop organised by NAPTIP for journalists in Minna, Niger State which ended on Tuesday.

The workshop was declared opened by the Director General of NAPTIP, Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba who was  represented at the event by the Director of Legal and Prosecution, Mr. Abdulrahim Opotu Shaibu.

The aim of the workshop was to train media practitioners to focus on human trafficking, with a view  to creating  awareness on the menace and inform the general public of the methods and activities of traffickers.

The workshop focused on ways to engendered a robust relationship between NAPTIP and the media on one hand, and the agency and the public on the other through effective and efficient dissemination of vital informations
