Mark, Anyim, Gulak Make PDP Reconciliation Committee

Former Senate Presidents, Anyim Pius Anyim and David Mark are part of the 24-man reconciliation committee being put together by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to reconcile members of the party.

Since June this year, the party has been enmeshed in leadership crisis which led to the sealing off of the party’s National Secretariat also called Wadata House.

It was also learnt that the 24-man committee, which was agreed on by Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee factions, will be inaugurated on Wednesday as against Monday which was earlier disclosed.

The two factions are expected to nominate equal number of 12 members each.

An impeccable source told The AUTHORITY that while Anyim and Mark top the 12 members of Makarfi group to be appointed for the reconciliation committee, Ojougboh and Gulak top Sheriff’s list of the 12 members.

Other members of Makarfi group, include all members of the Caretaker Committee, who are, Senators Ben Obi, Abdul Ningi and Odio Ugbesi as well as the committee’s Legal Adviser and Woman Leader.

On the side of Senator Sheriff, the source said are all members of his interim National Working Committee (NWC) as well as Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, former Political Advisers to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Those appointed as interim NWC by Sheriff are Prof Wale Oladipo, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, Alhaji Adewale Adeyanju, Dr Bernard Dikko, among others.

The source said Makarfi and Sheriff will not be members of the committee.
