In a statement put out by his media office, Uba bemoaned the claim, describing it as laughable.

His words, “We have been inundated with statements that certain candidates in the space of a few hours from the commencement of the primaries have been endorsed as the candidate of the APC for November 18 elections.

“These statements are laughable as well as untrue, owing to the fact that, the true situation of things now favours an Uba candidacy”.

The statement said, Senator Uba has, however, decided to abide by the rules of the game, adding that, he would continue to keep faith with the system by allowing the delegates vote their candidate of choice.

“We urge Ndi Anambra to thus disregard any claims of anyone as an annointed or endorsed candidate without the votes of the delegates”, the statement concluded.

The APC primaries has been slated to hold today, 26th August, 2017.

DAILY POST, however, reports that, voting had not commenced as at 6.30pm, only the accreditation of delegates had been concluded.
