2019: 20 lawmakers throw weight behind Okorocha; endorse son-in-law for Imo governorship

Uche Nwosu, son-in-law and chief of staff to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo has been endorsed by 20 out of 27 of the state’s lawmakers,   Vanguard reports

The development was made public by Mr Henry Ezediaro, representing Oguta LGA.
- 2019: 20 lawmakers of the Imo state House of Assembly have reportedly endorsed Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law to become the next governor of the state

- The lawmakers reportedly took the decision at the official lodge of the speaker

- The lawmaker who disclosed the development claimed that they had consulted with their constituents beforehand

The development was made public by Mr Henry Ezediaro, representing Oguta local government.

We gather that Ezediaro stated that the lawmakers had taken the decision on Thursday, March 15, at the official lodge of the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr Acho Ihim.

He also claimed that before taking the decision, the lawmakers had consulted with their constituents.

According to Ezediaro, the lawmakers who endorsed Nwosu include the speaker of the House Acho Ihim, Deputy Speaker Ugonna Ozuigbo, Lugard Osuji (Owerri municipal), Arthur Egwim (Ideato north), Obinna Egu (Ngor Okpala), Ngozi Obiefule (Isu), Uju Onwudiwe (Njaba), Uche Ejiogu (Ihitte Uboama), Victor Onyewuchi (Owerri west).

Others are Uche Agabige (Orsu), Emmanuel Orie (Ohaji /Egbema), Ike Amuka (Ideato south), Lawman Duruji (Ehime Mbano), Marcel Odunze (Orlu), Chinedu Offor (Onuimo), Chika Madumere (Nkwerre), Kennedy Ibe (Obowo), Nkenna Nzeruo (Oru east).

Meanwhile, We previously reported that scores of members of the Imo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) vowed to stop Uche Nwosu from contesting the 2019 gubernatorial election on the party’s platform.

The group, called the Restoration Coalition of APC, disclosed their decision to newsmen at Ngor Okpala local government area, via their spokesperson,Theodore Ekechi, alongside party leaders.

They claimed that their decision was informed in part, due to the fact that the governor had used coercion, intimidation and blackmail to endorse his son-in-law.
