Governor Obiano gave the order on Saturday while addressing market leaders at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Center in Awka, the state’s capital.
The Governor, who frowned at the level of illegal collection of levies and attachment of shops in major markets of the state, said his administration would strictly enforce the law.

Governor Obiano believes that the operation will not only sanitize all the markets but will also boost the state economy.
He also announced the State Government’s plan to ban the operation of commercial motorcycles popularly known as Okada in the three major cities of Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha.
