Ekiti poll: I dare INEC to rig election - Fayose prepares for battle, goes on the offensive

I dare INEC to rig Ekiti election - Fayose

- Governor Ayodele Fayose has once again called for a free and fair election in Ekiti on July 14

- The governor said he was aware that there were plans being hatched by certain people to rig the coming election; but that they would fail

- He further dared the Independent National Electoral Commission to try and rig the coming election

The governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has reiterated his call for a free and fair gubernatorial election in the state on July 14; stating that the people of the state would resist any attempt to rig the election.

He made the comment at the inauguration of the new judiciary complex in Ado-Ekiti, which was named after the state’s first chief judge and current Oluyin of Iyin-Ekiti, Oba Ademola Ajakaye, Tribune reports.

We gather that the governor said he was aware that there were plans being hatched by certain people to rig the coming election which he said would show the difference between ‘boys and men’.

Without mentioning any name(s), Fayose said: “In another six weeks there would be an election in our state. We will know whether there’s a difference between the boys and the men.

“I’m aware of all the things you are trying to do, because you don’t know what I know. You will fail the same way you failed in Anambra. You will fail woefully here. Every machination shall fail.

"I dare INEC to come and rig here, I dare you to come and rig in Ekiti. I assure you that you will meet a brick wall.”

Meanwhile, We previously reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reiterated its commitment to conduct a free and free election, devoid of rigging in favour of any candidate, irrespective of their party affiliations, during the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ekiti state.

Contrary to allegations raised by Governor Ayodele Fayose that the Commission was plotting to rig the July 14 governorship election in the state, INEC said nothing would make it compromise the integrity of the poll in favour of any candidate.
