This was the stand of the police, on Tuesday as they insist the Senate President had a case to answer, having been indicted by the suspects, who wreaked havoc in the community, on April 5, this year.

“The Senate President must honour Police Invitation; otherwise the force will not hesitate to use all the instruments of the Law to ensure compliance with the law,” he said.
It was also on a day the police debunked the story that their personnel blocked the convoy of the Senate President in the early morning of Tuesday, to prevent the nation’s number three citizen from attending the day’s session at the Senate and supervising the mass defection that made the All Progressives Congress (APC) lose its majority at the Red Chambers.
Spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, while denying the culpability of the police in the alleged siege on Saraki, said the blockade, must have been by his own security aides, rather than by the police as widely reported.
Moshood, in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday afternoon, said that the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has consequently ordered a probe into what he described as “unathorised blockade.”
“The force wishes to categorically state that there was no authorised deployment of Police personnel to besiege the residence of the Senate President or his deputy as reported in the media.
“The police personnel seen in pictures in the media were those in the convoy of the Senate President and others attached to him,”the police spokesman said.
