“I will report to the Inspector General of Police’s office at Force Headquarters in Abuja at 12.00 noon today in response to the invitation that they sent to me last week. The invitation indicated that they want to question me about one of my essays. The Lord is with us!,” he wrote on social media on Tuesday morning.
While updating his supporters after his questioning at the Police heaquarters in Abuja, Fani-Kayode took to his Twitter page and wrote:
"Left the IGP's office after a cordial interview. Police were courteous and professional.
"I was invited because of my essay titled "Five Useful Idiots and The Spirit Of The Accursed Slave" which was about Fulani hegemony and terrorism. No regrets. I will hit harder and write more.
"Thanks to all those that accompanied me to the Police Headquaeters this morning. May God bless you all.
Following Fani-Kayode's summon and questioning with the police, an associate of the politician, Deji Adeyanju, alleged that the “government got someone to write a petition” against Fani-Kayode.
Sharing photos after honouring the invitation by the police, Adeyanju wrote in a Facebook post: ”We are done with the Police. It’s all a plot to silence critics of the government. Government got someone to write a petition against FFK to the police that he was defamed.
“Defamation is a civil case, go to court if you were defamed not use IGP to intimidate people.”
