The group stated this during the 12th Annual General Meeting of the NDC alumni in Abuja.
The retired soldiers also elected and inaugurated their National Executive Committee.
The immediate past President of the group, Brig Gen Jonathan Temlong, said, “We are primed, to among other things, foster unity of purpose in addressing the growing insecurity in the nation. This is to enable us to offer our research skills and practical knowledge in support of current efforts towards tackling the myriads of national security challenges.

“The contributions of our members of the association have enriched the quality of curriculum of the Defence College. We have been engaging relevant stakeholders, heads of the security agencies and the leadership of the armed forces to find solutions to the issues of appropriate and functional deployment of strategies.
“These are strategies in tackling insurgency, terrorism, vandalism and other emerging security threats in the country. The NDC alumni will continue to play important roles in shaping the fabric and texture of Nigeria’s security.”
In a statement by the Publicity Secretary, Navy Captain Mohammed Wabi, the newly elected NDC alumni President, Maj Gen Garba Audu, said they would seek partnership with government and other stakeholders in “areas of national policy formulation, make positive an impact on our security architecture and develop programmes with creative value chains”.
