One of the counsels for El-Zakzaky, Abubakar Marshal, had earlier told the court, presided over by Justice Gideon Kurada, that Zeenat was refused access to her personal physician contrary to the order of the court.
Against this backdrop, the trial judge ordered that the Controller of the Correctional Centre appeared before the court to give reasons on why doctors were allegedly disallowed from attending to Zeenat while in their custody.
Justice Kurada subsequently stood down proceedings till 12pm even as the Shi’ites leader had yet to take his plea.
The IMN leader and his wife were in court.
