Lyon’s Deputy: Eremienyo Urges Police To Investigate Certificate Forgery Against Him, Says His Right To Fair Was Breached

The All Progressives Congress deputy governorship candidate in Bayelsa state, Degi Eremienyo, has called on the Police to investigate allegations of certificate forgery against him.

Recall that Supreme Court last Thursday sacked the Bayelsa state governor-elect, David Lyon, barely 24-hour to his inauguration, after his deputy was found guilty of certificate forgery.

But at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Eremienyo said his right to fair hearing was breached, as there was no investigation and witnesses provided before the supreme court arrived at it judgment.

He questioned the procedure adopted by the Supreme Court and called on the Police to investigate the allegations of forgery against him.

He was alleged to have fraudulently diverted $1.3 million from the NFF domiciliary account with Zenith Bank, an act that is contrary to Section 311 of the Penal Code.
