Some All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Rivers have defected from the ruling party to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC youths arrive at the defection venue carrying some of their former party’s insignia, ready for burning.
Reports say that the former party members who are from Rumuokparali, Obio/Akpor local government area of the state defected on Tuesday, January 10 with fanfare.
The members, who are a group of youths, burnt a casket which had APC logo engraved on it and also gave up their brooms, which is APC insignia to PDP state chairman.

The APC coffin is the first the youths set on fire while everybody watched.
All of these were burnt at the venue where the defectors were received by the PDP.
APC youths defect to PDP in Rivers
Next, the former APC youths burn the brooms of the ruling party.
This is another gale of defection to be reported in the APC camp in a matter of days.
Recall that 458 members of the APC defected to the PDP in Langtang South local government council of Plateau state.
The defectors were received at Kumbur community where the state commissioner for special duties Hon. Hitler Dadi hails from.
But there were no burning of party insignia at that event.
However, it is important to note that it is not only the APC that has been witnessing defections.
Scores of members of PDP, Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Action Alliance (AA) joined the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ondo state, barely three days to the Ondo governorship election on Saturday, November 26, 2016.
