A group Anambra State Indigenes Welfare Association Kaduna branch on Wednesday dragged the Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano; the state Commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula; and a private developer before the State High Court over the revocation of about 200 plots of land.
The land was allegedly allotted to them by a former governor of the state, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, in 2000.

Several members of the group had stormed the State High Court complex in Awka, Anambra State, as early 7am on Wednesday.
They said they were worried that despite an order of a court directing the defendants to stay action on the said land, a private developer, Rockland Engineering Limited, had continued to demolish existing structures on the disputed land.
A member of the association, Mr. Vitus Ewuzie, who is a lawyer, said Mbadinuju allotted the land to them as part of the desire of the state government to attract indigenes to come and invest in the state.
Ewuzie said the association reached an understanding with the Mbadinuju administration on the land, adding that shortly after the allotment of the land to them, they did all the documentations and paid all the necessary fees.
He said when they wanted to commence development some youths from the host community became hostile, prompting the association to buy the land from them in a customary contract.
He said, “Most of us had done foundations and some of the buildings had gone up to the lintel level before Rockland went in and started demolishing the structures.
