Fayemi’s N1.5bn Lagos Property as Metaphor for Buhari’s Anti-Corruption Lies, By Samuel Ajayi

Convincing a die-hard Buharist that stealing currently going on surpasses those they keep shouting about, they say you are lying. Check this:

Shortly before the elections, Kayode Fayemi, the governor-elect of Ekiti State, bought a property at Ikeja, GRA, Lagos at almost N1.5b. You can QUOTE me on this. That is not the news.

You can also quote me that after he lost election in 2014, Fayemi became very broke and that was why he did everything he could to become a minister under Buhari. He achieved his ambition and now he is back in Government House.

Those in the know said he spent in excess of N15b on his successful governorship campaign. May be from foreign donors, his supporters will say.

You know why I brought this up this morning? It has to do with those who still believe in Buhari’s anti-corruption lies.

Monies, for public officers, do not fall from the sky. If a serving minister could buy house of such value, know that it was NOT from his salary.

There are things I can not say here which I know and are very REAL.

That’s why I pray another party forms government next year and you will see how much of our collective patrimony these guys have looted while they use anti-corruption sloganeering to deceive you and cover their rapacious stealing.

Even the so-called educated folks who have no analytical minds of their own get so deceived.

NB: Don’t be surprised if they claim Fayemi took a loan to buy house. Probably from Magnum Trust Bank!
