According to the statement, Onjefu Obe, EFCC prosecuting counsel, made the commission’s position known during the trial of Umar Bida, Truth Igogori, Ifenyinwa Nwankwesiri and Ogechukwu Obaji.
The four individuals are being prosecuted by the EFCC over their involvement in a $1 million fraud.
The EFCC had in 2017 arraigned the defendants before Nyako on a nine-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery and obtaining by false pretence the sum of $1million.
Obe told the court on Wednesday that the EFCC wants its cases reassigned because of a likely bias on the part of the judge, considering that the anti-graft agency is also prosecuting her husband, Murtala Nyako, a former governor of Adamawa.
