Facebook, which owns the three apps, also confirmed that it was aware of the issue and was “working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible”.

“We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” it wrote on Twitter.

Twitter, which is not known for these kinds of outages, is where a lot of “frustrated” users have taken to in order to pour out their complaints — using all kind of memes.
