There has been an attempted jailbreak in Edo State, however, it wasn’t successful.
The attempt has left some inmates and officers of the facility injured and per what we gathered, the incident happened on April 14 at the Medium Security Custodial Centre Ubiaja in Edo State.
This was confirmed in a statement by the spokesman for the Nigerian Correctional Service, Edo State Command, Aminu Suleman.
According to him, inmates at Ubiaja prison on April 14 started an unrest by refusing to return to their cells on being opened out as it is the routine practice.
