President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, August 18, reportedly restated his commitment to work harder to ensure that all who looted the nation’s treasury are jailed.

Buhari stated this while answering questions from journalists after disembarking from the presidential jet at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, This Day reports.

“I will work hard the more to ensure that all those who stole the Nations money are sent to prison,” he said.

Expressing how he felt after the returning from his annual 10-day vacation trip to the UK on Saturday, August 18, Buhari told newsmen at the airport: “I’m feeling good. I am feeling good.”

About three hours after he returned to the country, the president swiftly dispatched a letter to the National Assembly, informing it of his resumption of office as Nigerian president, upon the completion of his 10-day working vacation to the United Kingdom.

In a statement, the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said Buhari in his letter titled: “Resumption of Office,” which he personally signed, and dated 18 August, 2018, said: “In compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 constitution (as amended), I write to intimate the Senate (House of Representatives) that I have resumed my functions as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from today, Saturday 18th August 2018, after my vacation.

“Please accept, Distinguished Senate President, (Hon. Speaker, House of Representatives) the assurances of my highest consideration.”

Meanwhile, Ujuayalogu'sBlog had previously reported that President Buhari reacted to the demise of the seventh secretary-general of the United Nations, Kofi Annan on Saturday, August 18.

The president who called his Ghanaian counterpart, Nana Akufo-Addo, from London said all Nigerians and ECOWAS member countries shared in the deep loss of the former UN scribe.

He said Annan's time on earth was filled with strategic influence in global affairs and the UN scribes vision for the repositioning of the West Coast and Africa.
